You know what I hate? I hate when people that say "[insert movie/song name here] is SO much better high".....because it's not, and chances are those people have never watched said movie or listened to said album whilst high.

/great song tho'

That video creeped me out when it came out, and it creeps me out now. Thanks for the nightmares, Tom.

It's a weird-ass video. You don't need "illicit substances" to enjoy it.

Wow, no more FARK video player?

Tom Petty makes a better Mad Hatter than Johnny Depp does.

I think I know what Braga was watching when he wrote "Phantasms".

I was always struck by how much Petty looks like John Tenniel's original Hatter.

This makes me wish I didn't have responsibilities anymore and could just sit around on salvia and shrooms.

This video IS illicit substances. And it brings back crazy memories. At least, I think they're memories...

That's not half as creepy as Mary Jane's Last Dance.

Tom Petty is awesome. He puts on a great show.

I just loved the outfits the dancers wore. Especially when that one lets out a little woo while leaning back with her hands on her hips...damn.

//Not the wigs, the wigs sucked.

I'd like to dedicate this song to a number of Farkers/Trolls that will remain nameless at this time.

Yeah, it's almost like he intentionally tried to look like the mad hatter.

The best music video ever made. Seriously.

I haven't seen this video in a very long time. I'm surprised I never looked it up. Brings back stuff I hadn't thought of in a long time.

Aside from this, my favorite TP video (er, the Heartbreakers) is still You Got Lucky with it's weird post-apocalyptic setting. Of course, I was a kid, and thought that stuff was cool. Looking at it now, it was a bit dorky.

Allow me to correct two fallacies contained in your comment:

1) Nowhere in my post did I include the words "in the 'Don't Come Around Here No More' video." My observation was quite general and not limited to this particular video.

2) Nowhere in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland can one find mention of a "Mad Hatter." He is, in fact, the Hatter. The Cheshire Cat does indeed state that he is mad...but then goes on t0 comment that "We're all mad here." Yet, no one ever refers to the Duchess as the "Mad Duchess" or to the Mock Turtle as the "Mad Mock Turtle." In fact, the Hatter is no more mad than anyone else in Wonderland. This would be much akin to calling you "Snarky SeamusFerrell." But that would make no sense: this is Fark...we're all snarky here.

This is a farked up music video. Scared the crap out of me as a child. Still does a little now.

Yeah, I'm not sure why he got snarky at you - I knew what you meant...

Speaking of old videos that remind me of high school, I used to watch this one constantly.

We didn't have a VCR, so what I did was listen to my favorite radio stations with a tape always at the ready (play/record+pause) so that when the songs i wanted came on, i just hit the pause button.

then i would make mix tapes by genre or artist and try to 'edit' out the DJ intro/outros with swifty 'stop' and 'pause' skillz.

oh, the good old days. :D

Speaking of MTV.

Great video and live? Back in the day the Heartbreakers were the best 'live' act out there.

I've been wanting to see Tom Petty for years, but he never comes anywhere near here. The one time he did, I was out of town for a funeral. And even then I almost didn't go to the funeral. Grandpa wouldn't have cared.
