Call me when half their long-range weapons aren't duds and the other half stops falling several thousand miles short of anything that belongs to us.

Is it time for a colorful metaphor?

FTA: On Wednesday, the top U.S. commander in South Korea, Gen. Walter Sharp, praised soldiers from U.S.-led U.N. forces who died fighting the "tyranny" of communist North Korea decades ago.

Sounds like a pep rally to me. Build up the morale before the next war starts.

/ My guess is this is already a done deal in Washington.

Elzar: My guess is this is already a done deal in Washington.

Judging by the progress being made with the Laura Ling/Euna Lee fiasco- which I have been following- I'd wager this is just posturing. Once they get released- and all signs point to them getting released- North Korea should calm down as they won't have the leverage anymore.

I have a feeling that a "second Korean war" may not turn out as well for the North as the first one did...

1. If a N. Korean missile dropped on Japan with a bio or chem warhead, would the US...

invade N. Korea?
nuke N. Korea?
bomb N. Korea?

2. What if it were a nuclear warhead? Would that change the response?

3. If there were an invasion, would China and/or Russia be involved in the multi-national force?

Just curious what the Fark opinion is on all this... because you are all my experts. My wise, wise experts.

Beatle_Matt: I have a feeling that a "second Korean war" may not turn out as well for the North as the first one did...

The only reason the first one turned out any good was due to the sudden involvement of half a million Peoples' Liberation Army soldiers from our buddy China.

On their own the DPRK would get crushed in days.
