Perhaps they could build it in another country and just hold the people there without charge for years?

I think Dick Cheney already trademarked something similar for his hunting camp.

They could have special "tribunals" there where defendants are not even allowed access to much of the evidence against them.

God am I sick of hearing this.

Either address his point or ignore his comment, but don't try and dismiss it as a troll, which it clearly isn't.

It certainly had a trollish quality to it. I know, I know, for any sin any other country commits, the US has done something as bad or worse, so we should all just flagellate ourselves for our sins...

This is ending (unfortunately) just as I had predicted:

-Minimal (if any) governmental change.

-Soon, everything will be back to "normal", except that a few thousand people will be sentenced to 70+ years in prison, or death.

the revolution is over. the bums lost.

FTA:

"It has yet to be determined whether the possible change in the tally is decisive in the election results," Abbas-Ali Kadkhodai, a spokesman for the Guardian Council, said, according to the Khabar Online news website.

On certain locales where the Chicago electoral rules are in effect (i.e. more votes were counted than there were eligible voters), which apparently happened in more than 50 places.

Um, if there is blatant fraud in those 50, is it safe to say that there might be minor issues elsewhere? Maybe.

As much as the U.S. can suck at times, I'm sure glad I don't live someplace where, if I'm lucky not to get shot for saying that my government is full of morons, they might put me in prison.

It's interesting how some of the conservative talk radio guys were all up in arms against this obvious quelling of democracy abroad, but don't seem to recognize the same injustices in our own country.

I'm glad they're supportive of what people are trying to do in Iran, but can you not be so hypocritical about it?

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Yeah, it was definitely a troll.

How typical that someone - like Ahmadinejad - who is so eager to engage in international issues, some of which are beyond both his intellectual grasp and his domestic influence, would fail to understand the simple concept of a people wanting to improve their own country.

How equally typical to threaten to throw someone in jail and torture them in order to subjugate a people who already feel imprisoned and who are willing to die in the middle of the street.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ordered protesters to halt their marches and has ridiculed vote-fraud allegations in the June 12 election while standing staunchly behind Ahmadinejad.

OK everybody, listen to your bearded religious maniac and behave yourselves. HE thinks that Ahm-a-douche-bag won the election so it MUST be true. Now go home and retie your towel hats like good little children.

I blame the Iranian clerics who are in fact puppets of the American government who are simply doing this so that there will be a rise in oil prices. And we all know that the US government is controled by the Jews.

Better?

The fact that every day, we bicker and argue openly about our government on this website without an inkling of a concern that the government won't try to shut it down or block our access to it and we'll have to rely on internet sites from other countries to keep us informed about events in our own country ought to be your first in a very, very long line of clues.
