picturescrazy: doyner: Sooooooo, does this earn you points towards your next promotion in the Mossad?

No, he's too close to blowing his cover. This may be a personal victory, but it's a setback to his career.

I dunno. If he gets a job with Haaretz we'll know his in it for the long haul.

Holy shiat! Is everyone on here wearing a set of damn kneepads? I'm certain he doesn't have enough dick to go around. (No offense, Tats, but I guess you don't have the twatwaffle rating anymore.)

Zamboro: ZeroCorpse: "Yeah. There's a guy who needed an ego boost..."

Are you suggesting that's why he did it? Even if that were somehow true, can you deny the value of his contributions? He's been seriously useful. Let's set aside our axes, there'll be time to start grinding 'em again when the Iranian people have ousted Ahmadinejad and Khameini.

I'm doing my part. I've been posting guides to building certain devices out of common items (which I don't know if I should specify here) that students can use to repel basiji, ansari and state police. I'd also like to find out if there's some way we can get loads of waveguide wifi antennae/ham radios into the country so they can maintain a mesh network even if the government goes full retard and shuts everything else down. Can you think of any knowledge you have that might be useful? There are a number of trusted stateside forums for making those kinds of contributions, ask around and get in on the support effort.

People can be otherwise decent in spite of having what we might consider to be glaring flaws. Should we fixate on those flaws, or celebrate their moments of extraordinary decency? Which do you think would be more productive given the current situation?

Did you teach them how to take a coffee can and a magnetron as an antipersonnel device? ;)

Tatsuma: ... this is pretty cool

Congrats man.
I don't always agree with your views, but you're never short on info and you've done a hell of a job keeping us in the know. Way to make us look good :)

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener:

Heh - watching Hidden Fortress right now; I've gone through Ran/7Samurai/Yojimbo/Sanjuro on one monitor while keeping up with these Iran threads on the other. TM is a badass.

And I won't feed the troll by quoting or debating those stupid claims (my number is 219305 in case he isn't 'out of here' yet). It's nice to see external props for Tatsuma's work - these threads have 'scooped' CNN, so that's a lot more commendable than coming in and threadshiatting with all kinds of paranoid theories and ad hominem attacks.

Everyone already knows that. There's no reason to bring it up here. Give the man credit where credit is due. He's done something tremendously useful/altruistic and it neither picks your pocket nor breaks your leg to pat him on the back for it.

Shouldn't we be encouraging that sort of activity regardless of who is responsible?

Hell, even Bevets, Brockway, or another uber-troll would be redeemed by doing what Tats has done this week.

Oh props to Tatsuma to.I've been following your stuff from the start good work all around. It's very interesting to see people all over you like some rock star in those threads though. Their dedication is kind of disturbing to.

Awesome - Tatsuma's writing are usually pretty well thought out, regardless if it's full of wharrgarble or useful information...

That much in itself is respectful.

/ Sometimes well thought out wharrgarble is good enough to be a novel, see 1984.

Could someone explain to me how writing a fractured 6000 word essay interdispersed with rumor, zionist agenda-whoring and outright wtf-isms constitutes being deified?

could you explain the following with crystal clear examples:

rumor

zionist agenda-whoring

outright wtf-isms

Your essay is due soon , or you img1.fark.net

Its not news its fark.com

That being said, Tats deserves all the credit he's getting as its not just rumor he is posting. I have learnt more about the Iranian people from his posts than the rest of the internets.

I don't usually add people to my fav list, I don't remember who's who very well and so I generally just save people who do something memorable.

As of a few days ago, Tats got fav'd as "Kicked ass in the Iran threads"

So now no matter what else he says down the line that infuriates me, he'll always have that going for him.

Cheers, Tats. I feel kinda left out cuz I've been ignoring the Iran threads because I've been a bit busy lately and afraid to get wrapped up.

Having said that, I'll repeat something that has been on my mind lately, the the Fark paradox: The premise of Fark is that it/we are superior to the mainstream media, but we pee ourselves with excitement when the mainstream media notices us.

Tatsuma, The cream always rises to the top. After following each of the what, 15 treads, I feel very hopeful for the revolutionaries. I believe you (and your astute knack for compiling vast amounts of credible information in what seems like a nano second) have greatly attributed to informing an otherwise not so astute populous of Farkistan.

Agreed. Thats, Tatsuma!

You do us proud, Tatsuma. I don't always agree with you, man, but you've been 100 percent a shining example of the best of our community in this case. Thank you for making the rest of us look a lot better than we deserve.

Funny. It sure seems like many farkers are giving him a reacharound here. Including a number who admittedly don't like what he usually has to say.

It's like everyone here is acting like they know the guy who sat ten rows away from some jerk who caught a foul ball at the one AAA ballgame that was shown on ESPN Deportes. Get real.

thisisyourbrainonFark: TheGhostofFarkPast: Their dedication is kind of disturbing to.

Who?

Have you read those threads. Anybody try to question what Tats put up and they go after them like a rabid pack of wolves. I saw people just ask simple questions about confirming that Hezbollah are in fact in Iran doing nasty things and people basically told them to shut up and that Tats is right. I still think its a valid question and until one of those guys is caught and confesses that they are from Lebanon under orders of Hezbollah then it is not confirmed yet a huge chunk are believing it as fact already.

There are a few other things where people have said valid things and basically told they are trolls or they should go away. It's typical internet behavior so I wasn't surprised at all when it goes down.

Tatsuma:

The trouble with me in particular is that you already garnered so much respect... its hard to really go up to 11, ha. But seriously dude, if this doesn't bring you up to uber incredible level of trust, idk what the hell will. Ive sung your praises before, and you only seem to confirm my trust. Congrats on some well deserved recognition, my good man. Honestly, i've got nothing else to say that hasn't been said, except that you've pretty much got my eternal respect, especially after this week.

For other farkers: if this doesnt prove who was the better between Czar and him, idk what will.

Fano: "Did you teach them how to take a coffee can and a magnetron as an antipersonnel device? ;)"

Hah! No, but I did link to tutorials on making highly effective tasers using the circuitry and capacitors from several disposable cameras, plus how to make thermite/tannerite charges with remote detonators fashioned from cell phones (by removing the vibration motor and soldering an electric match plus a magnesium strip in its place)

I realize it's not generally a good idea to encourage that sort of behavior but we're talking about well armed riot police storming dormitories and killing students. They probably can't get their hands on enough guns to make a difference, so macguyvered weapons might be their only means of defense.

I've thanked Tats in almost every Iran thread, I now give you my gratz +1.
