Procedural Texture: playblu: jokes about a 14-year-old girl being raped by an athlete

Where do you people get this "rape" thing? It wasn't in the joke.
The phrase used was "knocked up", which means to become pregnant.

But, by all means, keep lying if it beefs up your otherwise non-existent case. That's the wharbblgarbbl way.

The daughter of Saint Sarah, Defender of the Faith, would *never* willingly engage in sexual congress with A-Rod, who is a filthy Hispanic.

Hence, "rape".

DarnoKonrad: real shaman: this... I read all those horrible quotes and I didn't see any making jokes about sex with 14 year old children.

That's because Republicans don't joke about having sex with children.

Very good point. Are the Republicans saying that Hispanics rape fourteen year-old girls?

It looks like the Republican Party members are saying that Hispanics rape fourteen year-old girls. Letterman didn't have his joke about the fourteen year-old, the Republicans just started talking about someone called Rodriguez raping a fourteen year-old girl.

Why would they say such a thing to the hard-working and moral Latino community?

/there's yer talking point right there.

100% Pathetic. 100% Weak

Just let this one go Lefty Loons... even Letterman agrees.

IamKaiserSoze!!!: Personally I think the whole thing was hugely overblown and can't understand why the rebubs would pick this issue and this person to target. There are so many others that are more worthy.

The Repubs haven't picked this issue. A few whackjobs have decided to throw a fit, and they need to shut the fark up and go home. Letterman said something dumb, he apologized, Palin accepted, and the issue should be closed. What pisses me off is that the people picketing were likely among the first to defend Don Imus. Bunch of farking hypocrites.

It was just a farking joke, people.

IamKaiserSoze!!!: I believe in order for a 14 year old to be 'knocked up' they must have sex first, which would be considered rape if it involves a male over the age of 18.

Bristol Palin was born on October 18, 1990. She gave birth on December 28, 2008.

Unless she shattered the world record for giving birth to a child after the fewest weeks of gestation, Bristol Palin was SEVENTEEN when she conceived.

All we know about Levi Johnston is that he was born in 1990. Why does he not show his BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Was he ever eighteen years old when he had sex with a seventeen year-old Bristol? Is he, in fact, a SECRET CHILD RAPIST?

I believe the same rules apply, right?

fark Sarah Palin, and fark you for being outraged.

Let's all gather to the defense of poor Sarah, while conveniently forgetting she used her kids as props on the campaign stump (not coincidentally, I think "Prop" is going to be Bristol's next kid's name).

The real outrage here is that Sarah Palin is now on her 16th minute. And no amount of phony outrage from you right-wing shiatballs is going to change that.

So go ahead - keep standing up for hypocrisy and incompetence. They're the two strongest core values in the Republican Party today.fark you, you farking farks.

It was a bad joke. BFD. At least with Letterman, his bad joke lingered just about as long as a bad fart. You right-wing farks nominate your jokes for office.

And occasionally, the populace goes full retard and actually elects one of your jokes. Not a surprise, but they generally fall flat on their face.

For years I've been hoping the Republicans would own their failures, and all of them. Just embracing and rallying around some of your failures, such as Palin, doesn't exonerate you from the rest of your failures, starting with the 1994 GOP takeover of congress.

Barack Obama sucks, but right now, he's everything I want in a President - he's not you.

So unless you go back to electing kiddy diddlers who take a wide stance on family values, I'm sure you and the pepole you vote for will continue to find new and innovative ways to fark up this country.

Besides, yesterday, before the thread got degreened, you were claiming I mischaracterized this shameful garbage (new window).

Lindsey Graham is pretty a good example of acting like a wackjob on that particular issue.

Better yet, find anything that Republicans are sounding competent on even in context with the Letterman protesters. Anything. I'll even back you up if it's reasonable.

Some excellent examples on that list. But they had to put one in that just doesn't compare to the others but clearly shows how the writer views the world.

Michael Savage (née Weiner), the third-highest-rated radio host in America, for saying "Obama hates" and "is raping America."

Writer thinks bad mouthing Obama is equivalent (and greater since this one was number 3) than denigrating Jews.

No you won't. You are so bogged down in how the other side is wrong that you can't find a single issue that you disagree with your side's position. That basically means you've lost all sense of perspective and have bought everything the left has sold you.

What? I disagree with all kinds of things that Democrats are pulling (if you assume that's my side) -- mainly because they're too conservative and let Republicans walk all over them.

Clearly you don't know me or my posts. But gnostic prognostication of people's political positions is a staple of Fark stupidity.

Can you name something that Republicans are competent on? Here's I'll name one: gun control (even if I think most of their support for the 2nd Amendment is politically driven and not out of principal).

What else is there? Even by Republican's own pet issues, in the last 30 years what have they accomplished? I big pile of jack is what.

And those Letterman protesters along with the teabaggers are pretty damn representative of what the Republican party is.

Triaxis: Could you imagine the media outcry if such jokes were constantly made about Michelle Obama and her kids on a regular basis?

Jokes are born from some nugget of fact, so it's not such a simple thing to transpose two different subjects of a joke and hypothesize about the reaction. It wouldn't make any sense to joke about Sasha Obama getting knocked up by A-Rod because it doesn't have any basis in reality. Likewise, jokes about Sarah Palin's iron-bending biceps would only elict "Huh?" The Chelsea Clinton and Janet Reno joke doesn't work either if you substitute in Bristol Palin, because she's a good looking girl.

Although it's not a direct comparison (i.e. slutty stewardess), Michelle Obama is made fun of all the time. She looks like a man. She looks like a horse. She will break you like Ivan Drago. If she were running around in librarian glasses and knee-high patent leather boots, the slutty librarian jokes would be just as fair game as they are for Palin.

But keep defending that kind of rhetoric and wonder why the republican party is just a bunch of pissy resentful old white dudes, tea baggers, and Palinphiles.

If what KeiserSoze says is accurate, and if Levi and Bristol had sex between his 18th and her 18th, then yes. It's a 40lb box of rape.

Why does Levi and the Republican Party not release this details? It's because Levi is a Secret Child Molestor, and (just like when Dennis Hastert blamed Mark Foley's sexting of underaged boys on "teh Librul Media"), Republicans are protecting their perverts.
