In north Minneapolis is a dive bar called "Tootie's" Order the stuffed burger, (stuffed with jalopenos and cream cheese) with a "Gourmet burger" bun (black rye). For added goodness, get their thick sliced bacon on it. Onion rings there are awesome. I'm ready to drive from Arizona to there right now....

NeuroticRocker:

but that begs a question: isnt it made with mexican diarrhea water?

No the water is purified.

And it doesn't beg the question. To be reductive for fark's sake, Begging the Question is an argumentative fallacy that occurs when one proposes an opposing side to a syllogistic discussion, or argument, simply stating opposition exists side without offering supporting facts, etc. In short, "Begging the question," to resolve itself. "You shouldn't drive drunk because organizations exist against drunk driving."

It doesn't mean raise the question. Raise the question means that.

Also, your profile says you are in Tucson, so you have access to Rubio's. If we had In-N-Out and Rubio's around here I'd never eat anywhere else. I'd also weight 350 pounds.

Then you wouldn't want to live in my neighborhood... a brand-new Rally's around the corner, an In-N-Out whose sign I can see across the highway if I step to the end of the road, and two Rubio's within ten miles... one right beside my local credit union branch. Temptation... sweet temptation.

I prefer Burger Joint in the le parker meridien lobby. YUM!
Though Shake shack is pretty tasty, too.

Well I use Mac/Linux...: Smithfield Station in VA has a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and lump crab meat on top. They are worth killing for. Also, I went to a Fudrucker's for the first time in years the other day, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my burger medium rare and actually got it that way. My buddy had an ostrich burger. It's not on their menu, you have to ask about it. It looked edible enough.

Ostrich burgers are pretty awesome - try one sometime. Ostrich is "the other, other red meat" (Buffalo is the "other red meat"). Lower in fat and cholesterol too, if you follow that.

SordidEuphemism: Your booty shivers me timbers: tricycleracer: rmz: But, in the meantime, we have both In-N-Out and Whataburger so I can wait.

They closed all the Whataburgers in Florida.

I'm a sad carnivore.

Not all are closed, we still got a few in NE Florida, and we now have a Five Guys too! Life is good :-)

NE Florida on Fark? I thought we were a rare breed. How YOU doin'?

We are few and far between. I guess most other NE Floridians are too busy committing drive-bys or having sex with their cousins to log on to fark... then again, that doesn't seem to stop most farkers. So speaking of great food that's bad for you, have you experienced the fried pickles at Sliders in Fernandina? There's nothing quite so nice as fried pickles and bloody marys on a Sunday morning at the beach :-)

Philbigtime: Electriclectic: MFB is, like its parent chain Rudy's BBQ, overpriced and not worth your time.

If you live in the greater Austin area and settle for MFB, you're beyond help.

So, what's it like to live a life without taste buds?

If I had to guess I'd say it would make life bland, much like Mighty Fine's burgers. The fries were great though.

On the day I die I want that as my last meal.

Cool. Can I get one of those with extra jalapeños, batter-dipped, and deep fat fried? Oh, and I'd like a family-sized chili-cheese waffle fries and a small diet cola with that, please.

I noticed you went diet on that cola, did you want to super size it?

LOL...two people in a row :)

That being said, go there...

It's expensive, but well worth it. By expensive, I mean that each one of those meals (including the shake/coke/side) were over 20 bucks each, usually 25 bucks with the tip I gave.

I never seen that show before. Kevin Peng is hilarious at the restaurant convention. I'd like to do shrooms with him some time.

While not as pretty as some of the other submissions here, here is the 12.5 pound hamburger that me and some friends made last weekend:

www.boarral.com (Click picture for larger.)

We originally aimed for 10 pounds but just grabbed what we could find and it turned out to be 12.5 pounds. The portion in the center is sauteed mushrooms, cheddar, and fried bacon - though we didn't fry the bacon as much as we should, and it felt soft. We've learned from the experience and are planning a second one soon. We couldn't find buns that size, so we ended up using two pizzas.

Just outside of Tacoma is Fife City Bar & Grill.
1/2lb Angus Beefburger on fresh French Roll, lettuce, tomato, pickle, Chipotle sauce, bacon, and topped off with a huge sauteed
butterflied Tiger Prawn with homemade Bleu Cheese Tater Tots on the side. It can barely be beat.

that website seems almost like an idiocracy promo (like the brawndo website)....'deep friend in pure lard!' bit....its like this place is a joke. the burgers look soft but not that good. maybe it is good though?

im a man of modesty, not overkill...unless the overkill is meant to be ironic and deliberately obnoxious...then i can appreciate it.

NeuroticRocker: AND??? HOW WAS IT!?

It was absolutely delicious. I forgot to mention that we also topped it with more cheddar and bacon. It was awkward to eat, unless you ate it like a piece of cake, so it was messy, but the flavours really worked well together. The only other thing we want to try next time, apart from frying the bacon extra-crispy, is to make a chipotle ranch sauce to put on it. It was a little greasy, but not too bad, since we used extra-lean, but the cheddar leaked a bit of grease, though we had made some holes in the side for that to drain.

I'm not very good at describing taste, unfortunately. Not like some of these people that do it as a career. But if anyone in the Edmonton, Alberta area is interested, they might be interested the next time we do one, likely in the next month or so.

Gourmet commoner food is a joke played on the middle class. If it's intended to be cheap and made from local, natural ingredients, then eat it as such. Any attempt to make such food expensive is a class-trap for idiots trying to make their common preferences seem extravagant and significant.

Such is wine snobs, beer snobs, burger snobs, and the lot are all laughed at when they turn their backs.

MOS Burger is a Japanese chain that has places here in Thailand. I don't even know what the red stuff is, but it's like some kind of cross between chili and salsa, and it's awesome. My favorite is the spicy cheeseburger, it's like the above only with jalapenos and cheese. Mmmmmmmmmm....

URAPNIS: A local Krystal's just closed. The sign says that a Five Guys is coming. Kind of interested to see what the hub bub is about.

I saw that. Airport and University, right? I'm SO looking forward to eating there! If you give me a shout, we'll meet up there and have a bite when it finally does open.

For the Calgary crew who suggested a few places, I live pretty close to The Holy Grill so I will walk that way and decide once I get there, if I eat there or keep walking to Oh! Canada.

I blame this thread for making me hungry, and I blame the company who just called me yesterday to tell me I was hired for giving me a reason to eat out.

Cheeseburger day yay!
