Tourist: "Are there any alligators in this river?"
Guide: "No."
Tourist: "Great!" (Dives in)
Guide: "The piranha ate them all."

"'They can be very aggressive when first hooked,' Schneider said."
This kind of person shouldn't be armed with sharp hooks. Name me a fish that doesn't react negatively to having a piece of wire jabbed through its jaw.

And the conservation genius "figured" it was a red belly pacu. After three months in a pet store I could tell the difference between and pacu and a piranha.. This guy must be overqualified for his job.

This is my hometown. Pittsburgh has cleaned up its three rivers tremendously, but *anything* that can survive in the Ohio River (besides lousy-tasting carp) deserves applause.

personally I would love to see florida have a piranha problem, screw summer of the shark, lets start mailing piranha down there and see just how well they do, nothing more satisfying then introducing wildlife to a delicate ecosystem
