I think he meant, fine veins between their toes, but he had a Bush attack.

Resources exist to be consumed. And consumed they will be, if not by this generation then by some future. By what right does this forgotten future seek to deny us our birthright? None I say! Let us take what is ours, chew and eat our fill.

Well I'll be damned. I was looking for some 1e Bordeaux that I was sure I had left over from last night, and damned if it wasn't right there between my toes. Thanks, Al!

I mentioned this in yesterday's global warming thread, but I'll also post it here: could we all agree that the term "Algore" used as an insult is exceedingly lame and, as the kids call it, weaksauce? If you have to express your disdain for the man, let's revive an old standby, "Manbearpig". It at least sounds like an insult.

What about Owlgore?

I had an ex-friend who for 5 hours was on his hands and knees looking for a rock he thought he dropped in the carpet. Addiction and greed are powerful forces which are ignored too often.

Fano: What about Owlgore?

That, at least, uses an animal as part of its construction, which is traditionally part of many epithets. It's still weaksauce, though. Most people would shrug off being called an owl. I mean, go find yourself a big, nasty biker dude and call him a dirty, stinking owl. I think he'd just look at you funny and move away slowly.

If that asshat really wanted to save the environment, he would have said something when he was VP. But he doesn't, so he didn't.

2009-06-07 02:28:18 PM
Here's Gore's biggest mistake: he knows too much about too many things, so he used an analogy that those who have been addicted to IV drugs or known/treated IV drug users would get, but that would leave the general public bewildered.

Now, if he had said finding small pockets of oil "is like selling your kid's bike for cheap whiskey money," the opposite would have happened; the know-nothings at the Post would have accused him of being a typical elitist picking on the Not-Joe the not-plumbers of the world.

All around, too many potential pitfalls. Even if he had gone with "drilling for small pockets of oil is like Junior changing pit crews: a token gesture that doesn't change the fact that Junior sucks or that we just don't have enough oil," an analogy the Palin voters would get, the non beer-swilling, non-chicken bone throwing portion of the population would have been left out in the cold.

"Drilling for small pockets of oil: let's not and say we did."

Haha... Gore haters are out in full force today.

You are weak, tiny men compared to Al. You will never accomplish anything in life nearly as great as Mr. Gore so you ridicule one of the smartest men in America.

I like Michael Moore. He makes the right go insane. That's how you know he's doing good work.

When did I express interest in refuting his films? Really I was laughing at the hypocricy of his fans. I found his movies entertaining. Doubly so due to the atmosphere. They also served beer in the theater, so it was a good time and Bowling for columbine is on my DVD rack.

Is this the same Al Gore who, just as he was leaving politics to go into full time environmental activism, built a 20 room mansion, filled with incandescent bulbs, that uses 17x more electricity than the average home,191kw of electricity vs. 11kw (I think per month), then only bought solar panels and chucked all the perfectly good incandescent bulbs in a landfill when he replaced them with cfl's when the press found out?

Or is it the Al Gore who buys carbon credits to appear to do penance, but actually buys them from the company he created to separate the guilt-ridden from their cash, in effect paying himself?
