It's got to be auto erotic asphyxiation.

The guy had a stack of movies in the works, so his career was in full swing--not likely that he committed suicide over conventional depression.

Only other reason I could imagine is if he got news from a doctor that he had some incurable disease...but he's way off the charts into holistic and alternative medicine, so even if that happened, he'd fight it, not give up by hanging. Yahoo's frontpage has a link to the story, they are listing "a preliminary police investigation found that he had hanged himself with a cord used with the room's curtains. It cited police as saying he had been dead at least 12 hours and there was no sign that he had been assaulted."

He's more than a little odd, so if other reports are claiming that the cord was also around "little Grasshopper," then I'd believe it.

I wonder if it left an abrasion on his peen that looks like a tiger on one side and a dragon on the other...

Cerwin3302: Pilikia: Kill Bill had the worst dialogue and fight choreography I've ever seen. Kung Fu the television series wasn't much better, but at least it had a decent message and storyline.

/A Hui Hou, Kwai Chang Caine

Obviously you have no sense of stylism. The choreography in Kill Bill was meant to emulate earlier works, not for realism.

And "stylism" is not a word.

SuperNinjaToad: Why is it so easy to confuse David Carradine with David Caruso and vice versa?
I mean sure the initials are the same but other than that nothing really similar.. any1 care to shed some light?

Kids who don't know better than to stay off our lawns.

/I don't get it, either. It's not like the article doesn't have a picture of David Carradine.

So, you don't know anything about depression? K, got it.

Pxtl: Seriously?

Damn.

I mean, did he regularly hang out in Bangkok? Because if he did, then he was even cooler than I though. No, not for diddling ladyboys, I mean, but fore living the exact kind of lifestyle you'd imagine from his characters.

Apparently, he only hung out there once.....

2009-06-04 11:24:17 AM
Hey, David Carradine was in a movie called "Kill Bill". He played the character of Bill, and guess what? He was killed in the movie. So he died at the hands of his killer in the movie. And now, here he has died in real life. See any connection?

2009-06-04 11:24:24 AM
sleeping martyr: mattb0611: What's interesting is that this article says he committed suicide. A BBC article said he was found with a "rope around his neck and genitals". It was quickly changed, however, to read "rope around his neck and body".

Maybe his death was accidental?

Auto-erotic asphyxiation? David must have been into some weird shiat.

He was having some fun but went to INXS with it...

2009-06-04 11:24:34 AM
Sounds like auto-erotic asphixiation (new window) could have been the culprit.

You, sir, FAIL in epic proportions. Pray tell, what does David Cassidy have to do with David Carradine?

Condolences. You'll be missed.

2009-06-04 11:25:13 AM
OH, that was the original BBC story, which now they changed "genitals" to "body".

2009-06-04 11:25:16 AM
The media may try to push this as 'natural causes' but I think we all know what must be done: We must avenge his death!

2009-06-04 11:25:35 AM
"A BBC article said he was found with a "rope around his neck and genitals."

That's why you use bungee cord, you can lean back and it will loosen up right away. Farking amateur.
Maybe they can re-edit the footage shot for the movie so far and do Weekend at Bernie's III.

Bartleby the Scrivener: ear you. first Ace Frehley, now David Cassidy. It's been a bad week for 70s pop/rock musicians. I have a feeling it will be that guy from the knack next.

Don't you start.

2009-06-04 11:26:09 AM
Anyone think that it might be murder? Yes, the guy was in Bangkok and it's more likely having to do with sex. However, he might have simply ticked off the wrong people there and they made an example of him.

whistleridge: This says he died of natural causes, and that early reports of hanging were incorrect.

Either you missed the part that said "Initial reports suggested suicide but Carradine's agent confirmed to Bangkok's WABC network that he believed Carradine had died of natural causes" or you're awfully gullible. What else did you think his agent was going to say?

PYROY: God, do I have to do everything around here?

You could start by not making the same joke about 12 people have already made.

"Durrr, they are both named David and their first name starts with a "C", so it's uncannily funny!!!!"

2009-06-04 11:30:51 AM
If you want to feel not-sad for him, watch "Dragon" about how they gave the Kwai-chang Caine role to a whitey instead of Lee Jun Fan, a Chinese person with immeasurably superior kung fu in WuShu.

The ideographs for "Kung fu" are actually "time" and "effort", and the phrase as a whole means "great skill" - which takes time + effort to achieve. "Kung fu" is not a martial art. You can even have "kung fu" of trolling, which this is not an example of.

Wait.
VLADIMIR:
Yes, but while waiting.
ESTRAGON:
What about hanging ourselves?
VLADIMIR:
Hmm. It'd give us an erection.
ESTRAGON:
(highly excited). An erection!
VLADIMIR:
With all that follows. Where it falls mandrakes grow. That's why they shriek when you pull them up. Did you not know that?
ESTRAGON:
Let's hang ourselves immediately!

Westlaw came back with this a few weeks ago when I was searching for something unrelated: ...survived with no obvious impairment or injury." (Hucker Opinion at 4; see also id. at 6 "autoerotic asphyxial episodes do not, inevitably, or even substantially likely, lead to a fatal outcome" In the opinion given by Hucker in the Bennett case, he stated, inter alia, that 'most practitioners likely survive the experience and expect to repeat it again.'

If only we could've warned Mr. Carradine about the dangers of the choking game!
