I found more enjoyment from the headline that the actual article. In fact, I almost fell asleep reading the article and nearly banged my head upon falling asleep, which would have made my whole experience with this particular posting. You see, as Ms. Sleepytime gave me a big hug my head started to fall and would have hit this fine, fine lappy top computer of mine, but luckily I saved myself by regaining full awareness of my near doom and not falling over. My point is this: the complete boredom you have experienced while reading this is what I felt reading the article. I'm going to go get a taco.

/No one likes you so move on.

Northern Arizona University (est.1899) has more of a claim to the NAU name than either PornU and shiatbagforprofitdiplomamillU anyway.

There's nothing redeeming about the for-profit diploma mills. Those are places you go to mortgage your future (student loans) for useless "degrees".

2009-05-29 10:18:27 AM
Both names are "nearly identical in sight, sound and commercial impression" to National American University and its acronym, the lawsuit states.

Yes, but that's not the standard for trademark infringement.

And, from their wiki (Naughty America):

The company employs a mostly-female writing team and prides itself on producing content that is not degrading to the actresses. The company differentiates itself from similar sites by never shooting scenes with "gross or degrading" content. Thus it purports to be a company specializing in "good, wholesome, adult entertainment."

If one watches the Naughty America University videos (called "Fast Times at Naughty America University") it becomes clear that they wanted to call it "Naughty America High" but needed to avoid the legal ramifications of insinuating that the girls were under the age of eighteen. They already skirted the edge of that insinuation with the earliest "Bookworm Biatches" videos, and then made the course correction to specify the girls were college freshmen, and changed the series name to "Naughty Bookworms" (presumably they thought calling the girls "biatches" was a little harsh).

But the "Fast Times at Naughty America University" title was clearly meant to be a riff on "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", and the girls they pick are almost all very young-looking, frequently petite, and in situations like "I lost my lunch box".

Which brings me to my point. In the 1980s, it was fine for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" to depict high school students getting naked, having sex, and doing other things that we all know high school students do. Today, you can't even make a movie and insinuate that someone under the age of 18 is getting laid, because so many people will scream "OH NOES! Kiddie porn!!!" that it's not worth the trouble.

And that's the real problem here: America is getting WAY over-sensitive about sexuality. We're going backwards from the freedom our nation once expressed in the 1920s and 1930s. We made a small leap forward in the 60s and 70s, but since the 1980s (the Regan era) we've become a nation of people who are terrified that someone under 18 will see a nipple... To the point that we're arresting teen girls for taking pictures of themselves.

If Naughty America didn't feel the need to avoid the insinuation that high schoolers have sex, then this situation would not have happened.

...They'd get sued by the producers of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" instead.

The messed up thing that it makes sense, at least compared to a lot of the other studios (Shane's World, anyone?).

Neither one prepares you to dance on the pole. That's what Daddy does, when he comes home late every night reeking of cheap alcohol and cheaper women, staggering to his spot in front of the TV to watch the football until he passes out, not once ever answering you when you ask if he thinks you're pretty.
