They just want to take care of business themselves.

2009-05-29 08:03:01 AM
They need to give them back their bullets, put them back where they belong.

I think TFA may have been significant;y revised between headline submission and greenlight. Or subby ignored the actual content. But that never happens.

good thing they are not in the US. The Patriot Act would permit the government to arrest them for being terrorists, water board them, take the bullets out with a pair of rusty pliers, and tase them just for good measure.

FTA: The doctor did not recommend removing it. The police can't require invasive surgery for their investigation.

2009-05-29 08:12:24 AM
I remember reading about some kid who had something similar happen, except that you could clearly see the fragment through his skin... on his forehead.

The argument being that because you have the right against self-incrimination, (among other applicable rights) that the government cannot force him to undergo surgery to have it removed as evidence.

I'm mostly against it on a "Nooooo farking way I want to set precedent saying the government can force you under the knife" stance.

Does Australia have s self-incrimination law?

And the police have already stated in TFA that "We can't take warrants out where the warrants require invasive surgery. We can't do that at law,''

FTFA:"Mr Kirby told police that they were able to speak to his surgeon if they so wished."

Dr-patient privilege doesn't apply when the patient waives it.
