Rock on. Fond memories of breakfast at Pamela's in Shadyside. Once you got in, that is.

Oddly enough, one of the owners shares my mom's maiden name, although I don't know of her, but it's not a common name... (OK, now yunz know which one)

Darn it... now I want Pamela's. And Primanti's. Though not in the same day, obviously. That would be stupid.

I'm confused, could someone explain what this "pancakes" meme is all about?

I'm currently living a few blocks from there. We don't go that often, but they are fantastic. Around the corner is a Crepes place, and they're also excellent- but they don't open before 10AM.

kg4qxk: And Primanti's

I've lived in Pittsburgh for two years, and have not yet been to a "Pirmannies". Heck, I work right next to the one on Market Square.

Let's see how the Bamabots try to spin this one... how does this not fall under the law of politicians not being allowed to ask for or accept gifts?

Pamela's is great, especially the one on Walnut St. I was always partial to Deluca's, though.

Is Charlie's still around?

I just came in here to say that I live two blocks from the original Pamela's, and their pancakes are awesome!

I voted for Pancakes in November.

I have no idea. I work with a bunch of yunzers and seems like nobody that didn't got to Pitt or CMU has ever heard of Charlie's. I haven't been back in 10 years or so.

Damn, I could go for a big sloppy burger with some cheez whiz on it right now. (and bacon and jalapenos. mmmm bacon.)

That'd go great after coming back from getting hammered on good beer at Chiodo's, which I DO know was knocked down to build a Walgreen's.

Let the Right Wing bloviators get their teeth into this one. It will probably spin out as something like:

Obama is pretending to be elite by eating crêpe like pancakes but lacks the breeding to actually appreciate them. He probably doesn't like them. He should remain true to his roots and just eat waffles or chicken with waffles like non-uppity negros do.

For all you Pittsburgh diners in the Farkdom, try Geno's in Lawrenceville. Best steaks in the city (yes, this includes Tessaro's and Hyde Park). They also have an amazing French onion soup. Finally, they're one of the few places in the city pouring Blue Coat gin which, in my opinion, makes for the best martini.

I'll settle for someone explaining everyone typing "hotlinked" every time they post a picture. Does Fark have a photo FTP folder or something?

Agreed, who give a rats ass if a pic is hot linked? It's the inter-tubes, everything is hot linked.

I think I can field this one... people think that that will get them some sympathy points from the modmins if the hotlinked photo they posted ends up being changed to a picture of a transformer crapping on a glass coffee table or something. I doubt it will, but, ya know...

the only 100% sure way to make sure that this doesn't happen is to copy the photo to your personal web site or a photobucket account or something and link to that.

It's in Ultrafark....

And the pancakes are served at table by naked strippers.

Yeah, they're a little old, but what the fark did you think the $10 for membership to Ultrafark would get you?

I love how you were able to capture the GOP's bizarre fear of imaginary muslims, their ineptness in regards to the definition of communism and their complete and total aesthetic incompetency in one post.

I give you two pats on the back, kind sir.

yeah, because the weekly extravagant parties aren't enough, Obama has to constantly fly in cooks from around the nation. I guess the middle class going to get a tax increase so Obama can do all this.

If you're thinking about the Charlies Tavern that was in Oakland a few blocks from Pitt, no, it got shut down 5-6 years ago after getting busted numerous times by the PLCB for serving minors.

Obama must really suck at keeping his "secret muslim" status a secret. I guess it's like when you buy somebody a present but you really want to tell them what it is but it's just NOT THEIR BIRTHDAY YET so you have to like wait and act all awkward around them until it just spills out of your mouth four days in advance.

Obama really wants the muslim world to know that he's their inside guy and that he's going to bring them to reign over western civilization, he's just too excited to keep it a secret!
