It *IS* racist to assume or expect that only a particular race listens to a type of music.

The only way you can call someone racist for saying people who listen to a type of music are racist, requires the racist assumption that everyone who listens to X are of race Y.

Now, in this particular case, rap, more than any other type of music I've ever heard, as a whole, promotes the most illegal activity.

It might be incorrect to assume that listening to music glorifying a criminal life-style causes people to commit crimes (or that they simply listen to it because it glorifies their actions) but it's certainly not racist to suggest such.

It's not necessarily correct, but it's certainly not racist.
