Yes, there is quite a big chunk of Evangelicals think Catholics are false Christians, heretics, or pagans who worship a virgin mother goddess. They range from labelling the Catholic church as a merely a cult to being a diabolical tool of Satan or the Whore of Babylon. I heard one Pentecostal woman say she'd rather her daughter marry a Hindu or Buddhist than marry a Catholic.

Godless heathens...that's such a weird phrase. I always thought the heathens worshipped all kinds of stuff like trees or carved rocks or their ancestors. Maybe it means God^(tm)less heathens, as in their gods don't count.
