They should at least wrap it up for us. I know parts of the show sucked but I was interested in where they were going with the story line. Fox sucks!

John went into the future...it spawned another time-line....the end

Here's hoping the SyFy channel picks this up and makes it the next BSG. I was really starting to love that show. I already loved the women on the show.

Fox buh lows.

I wonder how long before Summer Glau gets a walk-on on Dollhouse.
Might even give it another shot if she winds up being "Sigma".
Heck, why not reunite the whole cast of Drive and Cleopatra 2025 while we're at it?

TeddyRooseveltsMustache: Meanwhile Scrubs is gonna be on for a 9th season when it shouldn't be. That "season finale" was really written as an end to the series.

Better that than what Fox did to "Married...with Children"

The Caprica pilot is on DVD, and the series will start early 2010.

T2 vs T3 (new window)

Who says they're out of ideas?

Joliet_Jake: Praise Allah for Stargate: Universe.

The Stargate: Universe story line sounds too much like Star Trek Voyager. They need to come up with something more original. I was very disappointed with The Ark of Truth movie. There is yet another device that is exactly what they need to bring down the Ori without a fight. I think they should have made an attempt to expand the Stargate universe. They should have had some real battles and maybe had some time travel story twist to explain how "humans" ended up more advanced in a far away galaxy (A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away).

Stargate Continuum movie wasn't bad, except for the concept of people just starting to disappear when the timeline was changed. They should have come up with a better way to get people from one timeline to the other.

I only watched a few episodes of TTSCC near the end of the show, and it seemed quite interesting. I definitely want to see more of Shirley Manson. I am not sure where they would go with it though.

Summer Glau was good in Firefly, but I don't think she should have played this terminator. IMO, about half of the firefly episodes were really good and the other half were not. Serenity was good, but it might have been better to see it play out over a whole TV season. I have seen a few episodes of Dollhouse, but I didn't like it.

Castle with Nathan Fillion isn't too bad for what kind of show it is. I like Bones also. Didn't a bunch of Firefly/Serenity cast members end up on Bones? Anna Torv on Fringe is cute, but in the few episodes that I have seen, the story line has been exceptionally stupid.

WhileAmericaBurns: Dude, it's a FARKING CYBORG. It's SUPPOSED to be a wooden performance. How ELSE are you supposed to play a machine "convincingly"? God, you people are morons.

No, YOU'RE the moran. That was our point! She couldn't even give a convincing machine. It was never consistent acting, but always about little tics. Look, I'm tilting my head sideways, I'm a machine, LOL!

Dr.Knockboots:
"Sucked" is a little harsh, no? They had some poor early episodes this year, but they had really great ones too. "Last Voyage of Jimmy Carter" and the development of John Henry was great SciFi. Better than Dollhouse. Movie looks good too.....I just really hated T3. Plot holes were so large Arnie drove trucks through 'em.

labman: What a brilliant idea. Lets take a show that is going to get huge amounts of free advertising from a related movie release and cancel it shortly before the hit movie is released.

From the sound of it, those idiots who ran the financial industry into the ground have found jobs in the TV business.

Big budget FX aside, the TV show looks like it's better than the new movie. If anything, the TV show makes me want to see the movie less.

2009-05-19 10:02:33 AM
The John Henry / Savannah storyline with Shirley Manson (whatever her character name is, who cares, she's robo-Manson!) leading a possible voluntarily insurgent counter-skynet metal faction was starting to look downright awesome. They dug it out to the surfact just in time to get interesting and cancel it. 3/4 of the last season was crap, but the last 3 episodes were awesome.
Note to show writers: perhaps you should drop the girlfriendey bullcrap and get to interesting stuff BEFORE your ratings have irreversibly bombed!

(ya think??)

They've gone full retard.

This is right on track for Fox. I guess WB didn't do them any favors so some Fox exec is trying to torpedo their movie with associated bad press. Its not like they couldn't stall for a week.

Personal theory: Fox was piassed that everything they had decent at the time was Greonings. I think they were in argument at the time over money for los Simpsones. People do not seem to remember much that all but a couple episodes of the final season were preempted by, umm, hmmm..., I think NFL on FOX. They kilt it a'purpose.

Good.
That show is terrible. Terrible writing, terrible acting and its very existence almost ruins the franchise.

Perhaps people will forget that this show even existed by next week.

/What show?

2009-05-19 11:46:15 AM
Mugato: I liked the show a lot. But you can't really blame the suits for canceling it. It was dead last in the ratings and it had to have a large budget.

They could have solved the budget problem by removing the middle 50% of the second season. Completely boring and unnecessary.

2009-05-19 11:58:10 AM
J. Frank Parnell: I only watched that show for Stephanie Jacobsen. Hope to see her in other things.

No offense, but you are kind of the problem. Anytime a sci-fi show comes on, they put in a hot chick because the thousands of people like you will watch it. They have no real gauge what is good and what isn't because you guys will watch any show with an ass in it. They cancel this but will create a new one with a hot chick that you can write fan fiction about next year.

J. Frank Parnell: I only watched that show for Stephanie Jacobsen. Hope to see her in other things.

She was the worst part of the show. Any time she was on I wished her dead. At least I got that out of it. Or ... did I? I guess I will never really know. I was convinced at the time that Greene let her go and she'd show up again to annoy the crap out of everyone.

2009-05-19 01:13:41 PM
Yea, no more emo John Conner. Man I hated that kid.. The series was decent but laughably stupid during some parts. They always assume their audience knows absolutely nothing about computers, or much else.

I remember seeing a processor attached to a cable instead of a motherboard. Or how about purposely creepy text John Henry initially displayed on the screens to communicate. And how did John somehow "fix" Cameron's chip/hand when they broke? And what purpose did it serve to reach under her boob and into the body where who knows what kind of damage would be caused to his hand. Stupid stupid stupid..

Dam those 4 girls were so hot though.. :/

robsul82: Bombs are determined by grosses, not reviews.

Good thing too. I remember the first review By Siskel and Ebert of ET was really harsh. IT was going to be the biggest fail ever for that studio. That didn't turn out that way and they had to re-rate it after a couple weeks when it broke all kinds of box office records. That is when I stopped listening to any of those folks who rate movies.

While I appreciated the bits of her story arc that dealt with West Wing's Toby (alternate time line) and the Last Voyage of the Jimmy Carter, she was just a... distraction. She is, however, the one character I did see acting in a realistic fashion once back from the future. She stayed in a nice hotel, swam, had some luxuries. They could have had a little fun showing some fish out of water scenes; like how would you have reacted to a present day grocery store when the future you was used to eating rats and years old dog food?

The Last Voyage of Jimmy Carter was Jesse's only real reason for even being on the show. Riley did have some fish out of water scenes, and I found her to be more convincing than Jesse at dealing with the new (old) world. Which is probably the way it should be - Riley did not have the benefit of a soldier's experience or knowledge. But I wasn't sorry to see Riley go, either.

I'd watch a spin-off dealing with nothing but John Henry, Ellison, and Weaver - they were the most interesting part of the show.

I like the show and am sorry that it was canceled. I don't like Dollhouse and I will not watch it. TTSCC was one of the few shows that if I missed it on TV (which was often) then I watched it online. The only other thing that I have made an effort to see on a regular basis lately is Breaking Bad. TTSCC wasn't that great but I liked it and I will miss it.

Chrome Artie was a very good presence. Being creepy with a robotic smile takes work, but his scenes did that quite well.
