The people on here who are rejoycing at Pat Robertson's illness are proving themselves no better than Robertson himself.

Even though I am a Christian, I can't stand Roberston's (and most of the 'Moral Majority''s) self rightous bullshiate - but I'm certainly not rejoycing over the fact he's sick.

I've seen what cancer did to people in my family, and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

You disagree with his opinions and you wish him dead? Hmm.. whos the self-righteous asshole here?

Die Pat die!

CaptainCampbell - "You'll be in my prayers this evening, Mr. Robertson....I still respect him for all of the good he's done in the world."

Just what "good" has Pat Robertson done "in the world"?

It's nice to know all these so-called "open minded" people can just shiat on someone because their opinions differ.

It's so late in the thread that I don't think it matters, but I have to respond to this.

It's one thing to have differing opinions, it's another to want to exorcise homosexuals, abolish feminism and basically curse society's progress simply because you don't agree with it. *You* may not benefit from allowing gays and lesbians to live as they please, but it's a hell of a lot less stress on *them*. Same with women. I'm sick of being told that i shouldn't bother to fight to be equal because I'm better off as an American woman than I would be as a woman in a 3rd world country. And, I'm sick of assholes like Pat Robertson attempting to keep me down because I have a little more genetic material and no wang.

I don't want a wang, i never did. I think they're ugly and unnecessary. However, I don't discriminate against those people who have them. I even put up with an obnoxious amount of mental abuse because of these wang-endowed people. Nor do I discriminate against people who outwardly say that they want to kill homosexuals. However, if you tell these people to shut up, or that they're wrong, there's a damned good chance you're going to get raped, or worse.

Now, you see my dilemma. I don't bother to infringe on another person's right to be what they are, but these people do. When there is opposition, they react violently to make a point, or rather, to keep the educated, comfortable-with-diversity populace at a minimum level of discussion.

Personally, I say it's high time we got some guns and started shooting, but that would lower me to their level, and I'm still too proud to do it. Talk to me in about 20 years, and i'll be ready to go on my spree.

Thank you,
TPR

Chill out. I offered to heal him earlier in this thread.

If I wished death on the man I would be as big of a Jack-hole as he is. While he has done his best to keep us in the dark ages as far as tollerence goes, the fact is, that if it had not been him, it would have been someone else leading the mobs of sheep. People like to have a scape goat, it makes a complicated world easier to understand. Pat just points the finger and the wide eyed masses follow the point to what ever the subject of his malice happens to be.

I can hope that this visit from the shadow of death makes him think about things again, but more than likely he will simply turn it into a new way to con the masses. So it goes...

2003-02-13 06:34:18 PM
Heterodyne, I don't wish him dead, but I do wonder who he will blame.

"The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.' "

Karma's a biatch, ain't it?
That said, I do hope this doesn't kill him. While it certainly would be a painful way to die (and he may very well deserve it), it would be very hypocritical of me to wish death on him. Oh, pain and suffering, sure, but he'll probably live.
I do hope, however, that when his time comes, it's by way of meteorite. Why? It would have to be written of as 'an act of god'.

2003-02-13 06:51:15 PM
He probably won't die, but even if he does, what's the problem? He'll be magically whisked away from the operating theatre by a host of angels and spend the afternoon sipping iced tea with Jesus in the big country club in the sky, and live happily ever after on a comfy cloud.

2003-02-13 06:55:45 PM
Actually, I doubt he will. Although I'm (sorta) christian, I'm not sure what death entails. I do believe that if there *is* a hell, it's not permanent (after all, it's sins made in a finite life time...). Some people will, however, probably be there for a very long time. If I'm right. I could very well be wrong. :)

2003-02-13 06:58:19 PM
Sorry, I do wish he was dead. He is the most deplorable kind of con man there is, ripping off ignorant people of faith to enrich himself and further his hateful agenda. I look forward to reading his obituary, and Falwell's too.

2003-02-13 07:00:45 PM
this is almost as funny as when I learned Reagan had Alhzeimers(sp?). hardy-fukcing-har.

2003-02-13 07:13:07 PM
Well, I am going to be nice and hope he is cured.

and then run over by a bus.

with snow chains on.

three times.

I mean, I could wish some one dead, but the whole suffering bit is just a bit much.

Using faith to con people into hating those outside his own "flock". He has earned my hatred. I hope he dies, one less social disease to infect our populous.

2003-02-13 07:49:59 PM
YOU guys are such assholes... if you new anyone that had cancer you wouldnt be saying this crap.... although... its probably the fact he had a neoplastic growth in his pelvis that made him such an asshole.

Okay, Stoatbringer I actually found that amusing, if not somewhat twisted. :)

Cancer can hit anyone at anytime.

I am not kidding.

John 14.6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."

John 3.16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

Holy Shiit!!!

Bevets shows up and spews forth an utterly irellevant yet lengthy biblical quotation that should somehow defend God's smiting of Robertson with his wrath (in the form of prostate cancer), while simultaneously threatening any who would mock Robertson's condition.

That's the great thing about the Bible.

2003-02-13 08:21:26 PM
Hope everyone is taking a moment to check their
nutsax.

Everyone of you will either have, or know of someone
who has cancer.

Give 'em a squeeeze.

Better safe than sorry. The target age is 18 to 30.

2003-02-13 08:27:26 PM
Yes, Patty-boy is wrong about almost everything he says. But that doesn't mean it makes his cancer funny. Death and serious diseases aren't funny. Unless stilts are involved. And a clown.

It's not so much that we hate Pat or other Christians...

It's the fact that they have personal beliefs they think should be Public Law. If you believe something is wrong then don't do it. Leave the rest of us alone!

One question: Does this mean Pat's gay? That would explain all the fancy clothes.

2003-02-13 08:33:59 PM
FrickenBored "The target age is 18 to 30."

For prostate cancer? The target age is 40-70. Got lots to look forward to young'uns.

I'd like to say that I AM GAY but would not wish disease on anyone, even Pat Robertson. By the way, I had nothing to do with the TERRORISTS' attack on the World Trade Center. I also know some lesbians; as far as I know they've never killed any children. Don't hate gays especially if you've never met one. Jesus never said gays are going to hell, but Pat has said many kinds of people are going to hell.

2003-02-13 09:05:27 PM
Maybe Pat Robertson will be forced to watch Queer as Folk in his hospital bed. w00t

2003-02-13 09:11:30 PM
Thank you Lord, thank you Lord.

2003-02-13 09:14:48 PM
I'm NOT GAY, and I didn't wish this on Pat, but as long as it had to happen to someone, I say better him than just about anyone else I can think of, excepting maybe bin laden (maybe). fark the evil old cocksmoker.

I think I'm about out of vitriol now for the evening, so good night to all.

Oh, and I think it's a good sign for Fark that the religious flamewar thread has finally surpassed the 'name the guinea pig' thread.

Im seeing a lot of hatred for Pat. Im not seeing any reasons for the hatred. What, specifically, has Pat done to cause harm to anyone?

2003-02-13 10:23:00 PM
Ok,

Now, how do you suppose all of those families in the Ivory Coast and Zaire who lost family members or were forced into slave labor camps to toil away in the diamond, silver and gold mines owned, in part, by Pat Robertson feel about this?

As for operation blessing, that someone was going on about in an earlier post, why don't you look a little further into the issue. You might discover that many of the pilots employed by the organization to deliver "relief supplies" to Africa, went with empty planes and returned with the proceeds from the mines under Robertson's control. In other words, most of the claims are BS and Robertson used the organization as a cover to advance his own private business interest.

You might also discover that Robertson has partnered himself with some of the worlds biggest oppressors and violaters of human rights. Including, but not limited to the current president of the Ivory Coast, who the CIA has concluded is in cahoots with Osama Bin Laden and other al Quada operatives. So, after all this, it turns out that Robertson has a direct link to those who attacked this country on 9-11, its a good thing him and Jerry Falwell diverted that blame onto everyone they disagree with.

I hope this doesn't kill him, at least not for a long, long time, but this evil bastard (If he's not a murderer, he is certainly an accessory to murder for his business conduct in Africa) can sit around in constant pain and increasing ill health for all I care!

CaptainCampbell ""Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, founded by Mr. Robertson in 1978, is a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian aid in the form of food, clothing, medicine, and financial assistance to help disadvantaged people and disaster victims throughout the world. Operation Blessing has provided nearly $500 million -- which includes Operation Blessing donations and matching funds from other organizations -- to assist nearly 130 million people in 50 states and 71 foreign countries. In 1996, Operation Blessing completed the conversion of a Lockheed L1011 airliner into a flying hospital which brings state-of-the-art medical assistance to remote areas of the world. The Flying Hospital was sold to a charitable not-for-profit organization in 2000. However, the Flying Hospital will continue to be an integral part of evangelistic missions with Operation Blessing International."

YAY! The 700 Club "Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, founded by Mr. Robertson in 1978" hasn't really done shiit "to help disadvantaged people and disaster victims throughout the world", other than be a tax shelter for Pastor Robertson.

Here is the best part:

"Operation Blessing completed the conversion of a Lockheed L1011 airliner into a flying hospital which brings state-of-the-art medical assistance to remote areas of the world. The Flying Hospital was sold to a charitable not-for-profit organization in 2000. However, the Flying Hospital will continue to be an integral part of evangelistic missions with Operation Blessing International."

YAY JESUS! Praise the Lord that Pat Robertson had the good sense to sell his divinely inspired and given gift to a lesser messenger of "God".

Bevets "Im not seeing any reasons for the hatred. What, specifically, has Pat done to cause harm to anyone?"

Bevets doesn't get out much, I can assume. But he assumes that anyone who has a derogatory or even contradictary comment about Pat Robertson "hates" him.

My counter-question is: "What comments has Pat Robertson made repeatedly over the airwaves that might cause such a hostile reaction"?

2003-02-13 10:40:35 PM
Actually "Bevets", as I stated above, I don't hate or wish any harm to Pat at all.

But I have to ask, why do you feel he is above reproach?

Wow. I don't know what to say. I really just want to take a moment to compose my thoughts and talk about how special this man is to me. But the truth is the only thing that keeps coming to mind is DIE YOU FARKIKNG BASTARD! DIE!!! It's just to bad that it didn't happen before he had a chance to procreate.

Prostate cancer is what almost always gets men in the end (but thanks to better and less invasive treatments, this is getting rarer). The sad truth is that any man over the age of about 35 has evidence of prostate cancer, were his prostate to be biopsied. It's kinda like a built-in time bomb, and it blows.

But look at Jesse Helms. He's had it for years and he's only now retiring from being an asshead full-time.
