(Salon)   Viewers are pissed that FOX tricked them into watching an extra episode of "Joe Millionaire." Angry fans swear they won't watch the final episode. No, really   (salon.com) divider line 318

Chained Heat style action happening

LOL Yeah!!! Me too!

2003-02-13 02:48:40 PM
DoNotLink...it was part of the much-maligned Joe Millionaire show. Don't even think about it too much. Move on for your own good.
For the rest of your questions you're on your own, chief.

The couple figured out a way to get away from the cameras briefly and be alone. However they were still miced for sound so you could hear what was going on.

Slurp gulp slurp lick

2003-02-13 02:49:47 PM
ProvenItchFighter I guess you need a fork in you. "Smokey and the Bandit" rules.

Jerry Reed's greatest role (besides the bad guy Coach in Waterboy) and greatest song make it so...

"We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there...."

Run Bandit Run indeed.

2003-02-13 02:50:06 PM
DoNotLinkPicturesFromSomethingAwful!! In one episode Even and one of the chicks (can't remember which one) went off into the woods away from the cameras. You could barely hear anything so they subtitled what was going on. Went something like this: "smack, smack, giggle, smack, smack, mmm, "I think it'l work better if we lie down", smack, slurp, slurp, smack, giggle, slurp, slup, gulp."

2003-02-13 02:52:12 PM
I've never seen it, but I might do what I do with "The Bachelor" and watch the very last episode.

Checking back in - see thread is still funny.

Maveno - no more flame for me today - got to catch a pre-Survivor party at a friends house. Should be fun. O ye dedender of reality tv. who isn't defending reality t.v., only her right to watch it without guilt. hate to say it, but sounds kind of similar to wanting to enjoy one's sexual preference without guilt...hmmmm....you're involved in a lesbian relationship with t.v. oh the taboo and the travesty.

exick - "that's my bush" wasn't reality t.v.? damn. i guess i'll just have to stick to walker texas ranger if i want insight into bush's mind.

wiggum : did you say these threads tend to have less of the usual republican/democrat/liberal/conservative crap in them? well, you can't blame me for trying, as i'm off to lunch. i mean survivor.

2003-02-13 02:53:15 PM
LawTalkingGuy...I'm not saying it was a bad movie, I'm just saying it is not in the pantheon of American Movie Classics, like, say, the "Cannonball Run" series.

2003-02-13 02:53:42 PM
LawTalkingGuy That's funny, cause I stopped channel surfing JUST to hear the song. I agree.

2003-02-13 02:53:44 PM
The KKK could start burning "witches", and less people would be pissed about it than this.

Sigh.

2003-02-13 02:56:31 PM
This is all George Bush's fault.

Nightsweat:

ack, please , no. I like TV show threads because there AREN'T political flame wars. ungh.

..or are you just yanking my chain ?

2003-02-13 03:02:40 PM
HAHAHA ItchFighter I thought about it and have to agree, based on the following mathematical formula.

Burt + Deluise = classic.
Burt + Reed - Deluise = near classic.

But, since Maveno is the official superstar of this thread, her love of the song propels "Smokey" to instant classic status.

2003-02-13 03:02:45 PM
Desecrated Now I have to go find the thread. I'd go to the party, probably wouldn't stay long though..I hate driving stoned! too slowwwwwwwwww...

2003-02-13 03:03:20 PM
what's really stupid is FOX plans to show a re-run of mondays show today(well at least my local affiliate) Also using the same promos.

2003-02-13 03:04:31 PM
...Television kills braincells.

Throw your nearest TV at the nearest idiot, solving two problems at once.

Revenant-Locke:

Good point. We may have war on two fronts. Meh. But Reality Shows not being real? Oh man! Call the press!

...though really. What does it matter? If Einstein was into golden showers, would that make all his theories false?
For a nation that shrugs while thongs are sold to 8-year-old girls, and 5-year-olds are modeled for cash, people get pretty uptight over fetishes and such.

2003-02-13 03:05:35 PM
actually, the promos now say "PEOPLE CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT MONDAY'S JOE MILLIONAIRE!!!"

Yep, and none of it's good. I'd be more mad if i watched it and found out this is what they were referring to.

2003-02-13 03:07:42 PM
Absolutben:

mmm, spicey.

how old are you ? over 25 ? then I wouldn't recommend it.
under ? go romp. of course, this assumes mental age and physical age are in agreement. we are working with little context here on WHY she thinks you two should go out. some sisters like to be vindictive with their siblings relations.

2003-02-13 03:08:06 PM
Maveno--quizzical, eh?...

Ah, never mind.

2003-02-13 03:12:07 PM
Alto_reed Did you get your HTML back yet??
Remember Hillbilly Hound? That got my html skillz stopped, and I only posted it twice.

2003-02-13 03:13:40 PM
Maveno Sadly, no. Would you be so kind as to tell me how you got back in good graces? I have sent Drew three emails, no response to any. Tips?

2003-02-13 03:17:01 PM
LawTalkingGuy....you are correct, it is Maveno's day and I defer to her infinite wisdom and compassion also.

2003-02-13 03:21:28 PM
I kept emailing and emailing. Finally Squinth responded and helped me out, Drew sent an email back saying "Sorry it took so long"... but just keep sending them, or email Squinth, she's realllly nice, just be honestly sorry, beg..etc.. lol

Wow! Who knew when I came to work today that I'd suddenly find infinate wisdom! lol ::blushing::

2003-02-13 03:23:06 PM
The Fox execs who made the decision to deceive the viewers should really consider running for office within our federal government...they would fit right in with all the connivers that are presently screwing us over...

2003-02-13 03:24:40 PM
Ralph_wiggum- I'm 24. She's always been mature for her age. I think she was about 30 when she was 15. I don't think it's a vindictive thing. She and her sister always had a very loving relationship, plus her sister is married now so i'm not sure how it could hurt her. She had a crush on me when she was younger and I guess her feelings have'nt changed. Weird situation.

2003-02-13 03:26:34 PM
Everyone is stupid.
They said there was TWO WEEKS LEFT. Of course they're not going to show the damn end with one show left..cause who would really watch that last show?! Idiots!

2003-02-13 03:29:28 PM
Maveno--can you email me Squinth's address? I would look it up in her profile, but for some reason my work's proxy denies me access to Fark profiles. Go fig. Muchas grazee.

2003-02-13 03:29:37 PM
"We got duped. We totally got duped," viewer Cynthia Wiggin of San Carlos said Wednesday. She dismissed the episode as "Total filler. A whole filler night."

fark you.

"I think that when people get involved in these unscripted shows these days, they know they're in for a ride," Gail Berman, Fox's entertainment president, said last month in defending the concept.

fark you too.

I've got a question which sorta has to do with this topic. My ex-girlfriends little sister just came back from the Philipines. She um, grew up while she was away. She's indicated she'd like to go out and i'm not quite sure how to handle it. Ok, so this has nothing to do with the topic but anyone got any suggestions?"

Fark her, then write a letter to Penthouse Letters.

" know this is gonna sound fake, but it really happened ! One day, my ex-girlfriend's little sister came back from the Phillipines ..."

2003-02-13 03:42:36 PM
Somebody probably already mentioned this, but I think its classic that the people are biatching about fox lying to them, when the whole show is based on the fact that fox lied to the contestants. What did they expect.

2003-02-13 03:45:51 PM
Alto_reed I just looked up her profile and she doesn't have her email listed. Also, I deleted all my emails that had her email in it. I'm sorry I mentioned her name to help ya before I checked for her email. Well, just keep emailing and asking to be removed...that's the only thing I can suggest. sorry. All the mod's are really nice, someone will help you out soon.

Skinink- Um no, but thanks for playing.

(slurp) (slurp) (gulp) (smack) Scandal.

2003-02-13 04:07:41 PM
I'm sure somewhere in this thread someone mentioned that Joe is going to pick Alex McCloud - the show's female host - and ditch the other two chickies.

2003-02-13 04:12:35 PM
Dear Absolute dumbasses like the person who posted on the Joe Millionaire board: "No, I will not watch the finale. Fox has lied to us, and I feel that they should be punished for that."

(1) If you're that into the frigging show, it was said all along that it was a seven-episode show. Can you FARKING COUNT? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. That's February 17th. Seven farking weeks. Moron.

And if that wasn't enough:

(2) The whole farking show is a lie, dumbass! Saying you're going to boycott a show about lies because they lied to you is like saying "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on here!"

And most of those who are pissed off enough to say they've been betrayed and won't watch the finale are too emotionally involved not to. They're like the idiots who said they'd never go to another baseball game after the strike in 1981. And the one in 1985. And the one in 1994. And wouldn't have had we had one in 2002. Of course they would.

Asshats. God, they're taking over the farking world, I tell ya.

Absolutben : Two questions :

1. What's your tolerance for melodrama?
2. I assume you find her attractive, probably for a variety of reasons, but how much so, and is it worth it to you?
3. How are you with her sister now?

4. So that I won't be threadjacking, Joe Millionaire something something blah blah blah

2003-02-13 04:35:24 PM
And, for what it's worth, I heard Mr. Dumb-As-A-Post this morning on Stern and he said he didn't get head from Sarah. He also said he'd have told everybody if he did (yeah, right), so believe what you will. The "would it go better if we lie down" line sounds suspicious, though.

2003-02-13 04:37:53 PM
good call on the terrence and philip, FP. that's incidentally one of my favorite early episodes.

2003-02-13 04:50:01 PM
Pig-That's three questions.:)
1. Very low, i've had enough melodrama to last two lifetimes
2. She's very pretty but it's really the person she is I like the most. I completely trust her and she knows things about me no one else knows.
3. We don't really talk anymore. We're not enemies or anything but I can't say we're friends either.

2003-02-13 04:55:17 PM
No,no, Joe's going to get dumped by both girls, because he told them he's dirt poor. It'll turn out that he IS a millionare; then the butler will say "They don't call be BUTTler for nothing", and they'll get it on.

That's what I thought I was doing last Monday.. I cussed at the Fox when it ended and I realized their ads all week were misleading on purpose...

Now he's stuck between the boring, ugly one or the hot, annoying one.

I'd hit em all.

My girlfriend watches the show which means that, in spite of my best efforts not to, I watch it too. I get by, by pitilessly mocking it. Fortunately, my GF is cool with that.

Ah, sweet compromise.
