(AZCentral)   Up to 130 people passed out from the 100 degree heat waiting for Obama to speak at ASU. Note: His opening act this time was paleo-rocker Alice Cooper   (azcentral.com) divider line 16

Got to give Cooper credit, he doesn't mix rock and politics. He is very much a Republican but doesn't have a problem seeing the other side.

What he won't do, and derides those who do do it, is come out and say, "I am this celebrity, vote the way I will because I am popular, okay?"

The man has integrity.

If only there was a way to know that Arizona would be hot this time of year.

I think it really caught people off guard because when most people think Arizona, they think snow and a frigid climate.

Wow. A president trying to be a celebrity, opened by a celebrity trying to be a musician, attempting to confer degrees on a party school trying to be a real college. What a bucketload of fail.

I'd pass out from the sheer nausea of it all myself.

Alice Cooper + Diamondbacks = "Cooperstown" restaurant.

That always made me grin when I shuffled past it going to a game

Do these people not know they live in the desert? Lemme see, drink lots of water, since the air is so dry that it evaporates at an alarming rate, wear a hat to block the sun from overheating your noggin, which impacts your mind as well as your body, wear sunscreen to prevent burning, wear light, loose (cotton) clothing to allow for good air flow and less loss of water due to sweat.

I swear, people here think that summer is that time of year when you crank up your AC and wear as little as possible. They forget how dangerous the heat really is.

He had a version that he sang just for the schools in the Phoenix/East Valley. When I was in school, we'd crank it up when the radio stations would play it at the end of the school year:

School's out in ... Glendale!
Schools' out in ... Mesa!

That song kicked all kinds of ass.

English is not your first language, am I right?

And whaaaa to the poor people "braving" the heat. Try putting on a uniform, 80 pounds of gear and getting your face sandblasted from morning till night in more heat than AZ has, maybe throw in dodging some bullets or IED's...then we can talk about "braving" the heat. Please.

Most of the people who passed out were from out of town and didn't come prepared.

They thought they were going to see The Decemberists play, and December = winter so there would be no risk of heatstroke.
