2000 Alabama 24, UCLA 35 {PAC10}

2001 UCLA 20, Alabama 17 {PAC10}

2002 Auburn 17, USC 24 {PAC10} Mississippi State 13, Oregon 36 {PAC10}

2003 USC 23, Auburn 0 {PAC10} LSU 59, Arizona 13 {SEC} Oregon 42, Mississippi State 34 {PAC10}

2004 Oregon State 21, LSU 22 {SEC}

2005 Arkansas 17, USC 70 {PAC10} LSU 35, Arizona State 31 {SEC}

2006 USC 50, Arkansas 14 {PAC10} Washington State 14, Auburn 40 {SEC}Arizona 3, LSU 45 {SEC} California 18, Tennessee 35 {SEC}

2007 Tennessee 31, California 45 {PAC10}

The Pac-10 ends up with a 9-6 record against the SEC. So much for the speed and athleticism of the SEC catching up with them.

The most alarming part is that if we take the two powerhouses, USC and LSU, out of the equation, the Pac-10 is 5-2 against the SEC.

It's interesting how every SEC fan who wants to derail the "Pac-10 Football Is Better Than SEC Football" argument claims the Pac-10 proponents only lean on USC. Well, we took them out of the equation-and the Pac-10 still rules the day.

There's not much else to say on this topic: The Pac-10 is better against SEC opponents than the SEC is against Pac-10 opponents.

I don't know what SEC fans are going to do to explain this one. Maybe they'll claim that the SEC doesn't try out of conference, or that the game wasn't big enough so they probably just threw it.

Whatever excuses are made by SEC fans, the fact remains that the Pac-10 has a 9-6 record against the SEC since 2000. If you take out USC and LSU, the Pac-10 owns a 5-2 record.

"Shafer's DNA report said she had 99.9 percent of being related to Bobby and Dorothy Reed."

She had a 99.9 percent chance of being related to them?

That editor must have failed editor's school. Tsk tsk.

Stories like this give me hope. There is no way I'm related to the crazy bastards that raised me.

2000 and 2001 Bama teams were terrible, as was every Mississippi State team you listed. Tennessee was so bad last year it got Phil Fulmer fired. 9-6 over a decade of play between two conferences involving a total of 22 teams playing at least eleven games a season each - not counting the SEC's championship game - and bowl games makes your that analysis, while noteworthy, anecdotal. The PAC-10 is better than most football conferences. It doesn't suck. After USC, though, the drop off is fairly glaring. USC is the only team that has even played for a national title since the inception of the BCS. It is 1-1 in BCS title games. It also won an AP title. The SEC has sent three different teams to five different BCS title games and has a record of 5-0. Unfortunately, there is no real way to prove the SEC or the PAC 10 is superior because it's fairly subjective, but the PAC 10 has not been a dominant conference in the national college football scene the way the SEC has dominated at the highest level of play. When half of all the BCS titles awarded belong to one conference, there might be some good football going on there.

Oh, and I could be mistaken, but in three of those five, the SEC was the underdog and upended its opponent. (UT was a dog to FSU, LSU was the underdog to Oklahoma, and Florida was a huge underdog to tOSU. And I'm not sure, but LSU may have been an underdog to tOSU a few years ago, but I'm not basing that on the line as much as I am on the Big Televen fellators at ESPN who unanimously declared OSU would win, then moped after the shellacking that USC should have won. As a Tulane grad, I loathe LSU with every fiber of my being, but the Game Day crew can shove off. That was utterly classless whining by Herbstreit and crew)

Nabb1: As a Tulane grad,

No way you're a Tulane graduate; where's the inferiority complex? That was too complimentary of LSU.

Inferiority from LSU? Well, I never played football, and was more the academic type. I usually hush the LSU grads in my office by asking about comparing graduation rates. Then I sign their paychecks.

Growing up with the wrong family, that's news. Growing up in the wrong family and marrying your biological brother, that's Fark. I am so disappointed in this story.

And there's the complex; all Tulane grads turn out to be business owners, eh? At least you didn't bust out the "culture vs. agriculture" line, and you're an actual grad - I get more grief from UNO and high school graduates who are Tulane fans.

SEC football is superior, that's true.

On the other hand, SEC fans are the antithesis of superior.

/Antithesis means opposite, for all you SEC fans.

This happened in the tiny little town of Heppner. I didn't know there were many other people from Heppner besides my Grandmother's side of the family.

Once, whilst visiting relatives, we found a bale of hay on the side of the road.

It was an awesome day for Heppner.
