I turn 30 in 2 mos and I've never been married (was engaged long enough to realize, I didn't want to be married/tied-down/endentured-servitude-just-for-sex)...

What's up with this...???

Even at my age, the women still have issues or are younger than me and still think they're in high school...any suggestions on possible chick pick-up spots?

Church isn't an answer. To me it seemed kinda perverse to go and pick up people at church (idea thanks to granny)....

Try the birth control clinics. At least you know they put out.

2003-02-12 03:50:56 AM

They didn't show the house the sign was on. If it was anything like this, well... duh.

Nicoffein:

I don't think that would be the house of a retired teacher in a small town in Michigan.

2003-02-12 03:59:38 AM
Why not? We have warm summers sometimes!

2003-02-12 04:03:13 AM

I do believe this is a repeat, and the second date was a complete disaster and Stevie-boy was devastated. There is a radio station Farker who had the man crying on his radio show, if I remember correctly....hang on let me rummage in the forums.

2003-02-12 04:31:22 AM
If I didn't wreck my nice 2001 car the other day, I would put a sign on it that said, "Looking for Love or Sex, whichever comes first, females only, exceptions: Brad Pitt or Leonardo Dicaprio"

2003-02-12 04:31:26 AM
Vishus

You can always go to AA meetings to meet women. They aren't like the ones you meet at abortion clinics, but still, needy.

If you were a teacher, and then BOOM you had the money for that house, you would retire too!

Well, ask around. Chances are there may even be a ministry at one of your local churches that is dedicated to getting folks hitched. If you go at it from that angle, then it removes the motive you are conflicted by.

2003-02-12 05:00:10 AM
That is so weird thinking that it is perverse to meet women at church. Here is the place they have been encouraging you from the time you were little to grow up, get married, and have children - and you think it is somehow contrary to this notion to meet a woman at church?

No, church is the perfect place. You already have something in common with everyone there.

"Beer wench wanted"
-preferably with beer included.

2003-02-12 05:23:20 AM
people say "high school girls" as if it's disparaging

As someone starting college in a month, can anyone give me any tips on the primary differences between high school/college girls

2003-02-12 05:29:48 AM
Bwahahaha. Bring this to the notice of the virgins in yesterday's thread.

2003-02-12 05:31:40 AM
College girls now believe they are women.

2003-02-12 05:33:16 AM

2003-02-12 05:56:58 AM
You can always take a cue from Chuck Palahniuk's novel, "Choke", and pick up ladies at your local Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings.

Think this works for other commodities like new Harley Davidsons and Pickup Trucks?

Think I'll make a sign...

Boobies are cool

2003-02-12 06:05:05 AM
It's easier to tempt them in with a trail of drug-infused pieces of cheese.

Or is that mice?

Ah who cares once they're dead, anyway...?

2003-02-12 06:07:42 AM
Bookstores are good.
Pick up women at bookstores, and you separate the morons from the girls you'd actually like to talk to just by looking at what they're reading as you are summing them up physically. For example, chicks in mini-skirts buying cookbooks or Balzac could be a positive thing, but chicks in mini's buying People© or a Harlequin© romance might be hard to take after the first 48 hours..

ManicBomber: "No, church is the perfect place. You already have something in common with everyone there."

Yeah, like lack of critical reasoning skills!

Church is the perfect place to meet women as long as you don't want to get laid. "Hey baby, that sermon on how premarital sex is a sin sure made me hot!"

2003-02-12 06:23:51 AM
...and I'm not getting laid.

Nice to see that there are still women out there with no standards at all :P

Link was already submitted, but here it is anyway:

'Wife Wanted' Sign Back Up

Looks like the media scared away this guy's "perfect" woman. Bastards.

2003-02-12 06:32:16 AM
I have a similar sign saying "Life Wanted".

2003-02-12 06:34:31 AM
Here in the great land of Zion (Utah), meeting people at church is part of the culture. The Mormons have separate church organizations called "Singles Wards" which seem to exist solely as a matchmaking machine. Instead of going to church with the family types, you got to the same sort of 3 hour service, but only with other single people. This way you can be promoted to the family wards.

My mom made the "check the local church for singles groups" suggestion to me a couple times. Thankfully I think she now understands that not only is organized religion not ever going to be a part of my life, I'm not particularly interested in meeting women for whom it IS a significant part of her life. The whole "I'm not going to hook up with a woman who wants to drag me to church on Sunday for the rest of my life" thing.

My parents aren't regular church goers either, so I'm not quite sure why she even brought it up...

VegasBreakfastClub: I believe the trip he is offering is free, you just have to meet certain requirements.

And to make lettes bold, use HTML. Click here if that went over your head.

where are all these single women going to church?

i went to church more regularly when i was younger (haven't gone in over a year, more laziness than a conscious decision to reject Christ and know the love of life the fundie anti-Christians here feel) ... i didn't see too many single women abt my age.

church 1: methodist, lots of over-50s and younger families.
church 2: baptist, a fair # of high school girls. in retrospect i should've pursued things with a couple of the single ones. seriously if i were 18-19 and she were 15-16 what's the big deal if i go up to the parents and have everything aboveboard?? i wouldn't have a heartattack if a slightly-older guy from a church i attend (hypothetically) wanted to date my (hypothetical) teenage daughter. (i was a freshman/sophomore in college, and had skipped a grade in elementary school.)
church 3: independent protestant, just about everyone was a young (as in below 30) family with at least 3 kids. not quite sure where they all met each other as it seemed there were no singles.

as for friends fixing me up, i can think of ONE time in my single experience where a (female) friend tried to fix me up. i was a sophomore and a girl in the next dorm wanted me to have me help her cousin with her math homework. unfortunately i couldn't make it (told her @ the time) and she later expressed regret that i wasn't there. i asked her why she wanted me to help her cousin with the homework and she said she wanted me to meet her :D
