Ford Probe. Trailer Park. Fishing. Fights. This story is missing something. Ahh, yes, a case of Busch Light beer and maybe some NASCAR souveniers.

2003-02-11 10:43:27 AM
Why is the cop out of work for a week for a broken finger? Will it be healed in a week.

2003-02-11 11:08:44 AM
The're going to need Jeebus for their lawyer.

2003-02-11 11:42:30 AM
Naw, Jeebus would have to swear to God at some point and Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain.

2003-02-11 12:01:22 PM
"Ice shanties"? We Minnesotan call them ice houses or fish houses.
Ice Shanties sounds like an Eskimo slum.

2003-02-11 12:43:57 PM
Too bad there weren't any hockey players out there - they would have taken these guys out no problem...

2003-02-11 01:58:54 PM
I like to eat liver with fava beans and a nice shantie.

2003-02-11 03:35:25 PM
Did hilarity ensue?

2003-02-11 03:35:41 PM
What's the problem here? Sounds like fun to me..

2003-02-11 03:36:34 PM

Bwahhhh, that's all I needed to hear.

2003-02-11 03:36:44 PM
I can't image the ford probe would handle to well on ice.....

Officers caught up with the three in Lee's Park, Flanagan said. The three allegedly fought the officers, and Nosal broke Officer John Lanzara's finger in the struggle, Flanagan said.

Just like that guy to bring a finger to a fist fight.

2003-02-11 03:38:34 PM
For some reason I'm thginking of the ice fishing scene from Grumpy Old Men.

2003-02-11 03:39:23 PM
I bet the cops did a little shiat fishing with the old night stick after that little episode.

2003-02-11 03:39:56 PM

um yeah

"Officers did not go out on the ice, waiting for the car to come to a halt."

COP1: Dab gumnit, dem boys jest flu onta da ice.
COP2: Shad weh go an git em.
COP1: Nah, dey drivin a probe.

2003-02-11 03:40:57 PM
A probe can go 70 MPH? They're faster than I thought...

2003-02-11 03:42:10 PM
Wasn't this a seen from Grumpy Old Men?

2003-02-11 03:43:01 PM
Their main lead fell through when they realized these poor fellas were done croaked.

2003-02-11 03:44:18 PM
Sounds like the trailer for Grumpy Old Men 3.

2003-02-11 03:44:56 PM

"Well luckily for those Duke boys, they weren't on ice for too long. Uncle Jesse had a little dosie - doe with Boss Hog, which convinced the boss to tell ol' Cletus to let the Duke Boys go. ANNNd after the Dukes got out. they drove back to their house where Bo, Luke and Uncle Jesse too, had a threesome with pretty little Daisy Duke."

2003-02-11 03:45:42 PM
Snizwilk's post = awesome.

The cops let them fight and even break a finger? shiat, had the perps been black or mexican the piggies would've shot 'em and been done with it...

2003-02-11 03:46:45 PM
a mag shower for the boys down at the station.

2003-02-11 03:49:10 PM
Last time I saw a probe on or near a frozen lake, it involved this guy.

2003-02-11 03:49:13 PM
Them Duke boys!

2003-02-11 03:51:43 PM
Dance! Dance your ice shanty oh Ice Pirates of yore!

2003-02-11 03:54:12 PM
Ice, ice shanties!

2003-02-11 03:56:34 PM
Murdie - sounds like a little shiat to me...

2003-02-11 03:57:48 PM
A man who was out fishing at the time and asked not to be identified, said, "I saw that kid coming out of there flying."

You think this guy called in 'sick' to work and almost had a heart attack when he found out he was going to be in the paper as an 'ice fisher?'

2003-02-11 03:58:05 PM
Skinink's post is awesome!

Not that I actually read the words, or anything, but still...

2003-02-11 03:59:00 PM
Can anyone say new line for ford "Probe Popsicle"

2003-02-11 03:59:34 PM
I bet their sorry they got cod.

2003-02-11 04:01:20 PM
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

2003-02-11 04:01:38 PM
I find it hard to believe that a Probe could actually drive on ice. When I was younger and stupider, I owned one, and it had a hell of a time driving on dry pavement...

Did somebody say Grumpy Old Men?

2003-02-11 04:13:34 PM
Boy..the admin today must have gotten a ticket recently...or something.

Stop the hate against the police! LOL

Ku_No_Ichi threads sometimes get pulled when they get out of control, or someone sends an ass e-mail to the author of the article, which is, in my guess, what happened.

2003-02-11 04:13:59 PM
Who are the asshats? The rednecks who drove on the ice or the redneck cops who chased them onto the ice?

2003-02-11 04:17:01 PM
Seriously27: Just like that guy to bring a finger to a fist fight.

Was that a Untouchables reference in disguise? I read your post with a Sean Connery accent, just in case! Suprise me, you filthy bastard! and

Hey Trebek, tell your mother I had a good time last night.
Anyways....

Thanks, Skinink!

Coming soon to a convention center near you?

"Cops On Ice."

Small-bany is where it's at. /sarcasm

2003-02-11 04:23:59 PM
First they get tornados, now they get asshats on ice, trailer parks get all the excitement.

Asshats on Ice, I'd buy a ticket for that...

This is Timothy Murdie.

I don't know anything about this lake, but usually aren't there two or more places you could drive off the ice to escape the cops?
Or was it a dead end lake?

Ant:
That's no Probe!! That's a real car!! Sorry, I love my Subaru WRX...hate Fords....like snow driving...weeeee

2003-02-11 04:41:13 PM
Am I the only one that sees the humor in these guys ending up in a trailer park. One of them must live there. Driving 70mph on a frozen lake while hyped up on meth and then fighting with the police in your trailer park is normal for white trash.

2003-02-11 04:43:22 PM
ah, those crazy asshats. *sigh* at it again, are they?

I love my Subies too, I have 3 of them: 2.5RS, Legacy GT LTD, GL Wagon

2003-02-11 04:48:55 PM
ZachF81: Believe it or not, but the Probe was originally intended to be a replacement for the Mustang. Front wheel drive and all. Ford wisely reconsidered when it was pointed out to them that it would've been the dumbest farking move Ford ever made, including Edsel.

2003-02-11 04:50:37 PM
o_O i go to school there
and i row on that take
bastards

2003-02-11 04:51:40 PM
Ok, any excuse to show the pic then, eh? Just got a 2002 WRX two weeks ago (wagon, so all spouses would be pleased) and I love it! Of course, I haven't had a high speed chase on a frozen lake while on crank yet, but I'm planning on breakin' 'er this weekend...

2003-02-11 04:54:10 PM
Exhibit A: For those of you that think that a day ice fishing would likely be a pretty uneventful outing.

I'm just happy that this happened in Albany, and not in Canada. I was just sure this was going to be a canada.com article when I opened it, and I'd have to hang my head in shame once again.

Cool! Just don't end up like this guy:

They might have gotten away if they had driven a Saab.

Chances are, the cop broke his finger while they were beating the guys up.(Saratoga cops are notorious for it) None of these guys even had a criminal record, no less were ready to beat up cops. Saratoga is like that. About 5 years ago there were 2 teenagers driving around Saratoga and boredom of course, ensued. One decided to steal a Christmas wreath from a road-side stand. The cops saw him and pulled the car over. The driver stopped immediately, but the guy who stole the wreath got out and ran("my dad will ground me" or some such crap). The cops gave chase through the brush and woods. Every scrape and scratch that the cops received while chasing him was considered as "assault on a police officer". Instead of petty larceny, this kid was charged with FOURTEEN felony assaults on a police officer. Crowded lake? THAT LAKE IS HUGE, and if there was more than one fisherman per square mile, I would be VERY suprised. Speaking of lakes, did you hear the one about the Saratoga water safety officer that pulled his boat up to a college rowing team to make sure they had had the proper amount of life-jackets on board? He ran over the scull, killing 2 and injuring 8. "Donuts on ice", is a regular winter activity in that neighborhood. In fact, they hold sanctioned races on the same lake. Asshats? No douche nozzle, the cops are the asshats.

"Hi honey, I'm in jail, the new car's underwater, and my meth is wearing off..."

No, don't think I'm up for that phone call...speaking of asshats, please tell me that's a photoshop image, rather than a real picture of an epic asshat...

2003-02-11 05:26:40 PM

Johnc98 True. If I call an ice house or hunting shack a shantie, it's usually not in a respectful way. Maybe 1 out of 10 times I'll call something a shantie in the same way I'd call an old friend a "damn dirty ape" or something similar.

As for the kids driving 70 on the ice... I wish they would've hit a pressure ridge.

A Ford Probe that does 70MPH? Wow.

Bump...

I think that he likes his fava beans with a nice Chianti (wine)

Ford Probe with Zipperhead Ice Wing add on...

2003-02-11 08:21:08 PM
Just to clarify for all the warm-weather dwellers out there...
I live about 1.5 hours north of Saratoga and the lakes/ponds around here often freeze to 10+ feet of ice, so it's not uncommon for people (fishermen, bored people)to drive onto them with their cars. On some lakes they even develop traffic lanes - especially when somebody is building a home out on an island - it is cheaper to have the materials and equipment delivered via truck over the ice and stored there until spring than it is to find some sort of a barge to float the stuff out to the islands. Also, a Ford Probe, or any other car for that matter, would have no problem speeding on these lakes - they are covered with snow which becomes hard and granular over the winter, from snowmobiles and other traffic; kind of like really frosty gravel. And around here it's an Ice House, don't know where shanty came from...

...This concludes Backwoods Yocal-Hick 101...

Mills set bail at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

whats the diff, anyone know? 10% bong is 1k. or 5k cash? why pay 5k when you can pay 1k?

2003-02-11 09:08:08 PM
oops, I mean bond, not bong...
