Swine flu was never a problem when Bush was in office, either.

God damn it. Finally a politician comes along who's got a sense of humour, and predictably every statement (or tweet FFS) is treated as gospel. Learn to laugh you humourless vote-chasing whiny little wankers.

To me, it sounds like the gentleman was trying to parody Michelle Bachmann's statement about swine flu and democratic administrations.

Sounds reasonable since Brits are not true Americans and hate our core conservative values

FTFA: The MP for Birmingham Erdington, 40, posted his comment online on his Twitter page... Fellow Labour MPs were aghast. 'It's infantile, isn't it,' one says. 'Hasn't he got enough to do?'

Yes! How dare this man waste those 30 valuable seconds composing a humourous 140-character-or-less message and clicking 'Update'?

Personally I'd like to know how long this 'fellow Labour MP' spent composing and publicising the comment 'Hasn't he got enough to do?'. Hasn't he got enough to do?

Part of me thinks maybe the United States should have looked to the health, welfare and infrastructure of its latin neighbor, Mexico. We could've helped with grants and aid at the bare minimum to modernize its hospitals and sanitation systems. Perhaps, in time, with everything being better internally not so many Mexicans would feel compelled to enter the US illegally for a better life.

The the rest of me takes over and thinks that its a crappy 3rd world country for a reason. The corruption levels are insane. In Mexico the smart people have left, the ambitious and manipulative are in the government, and the power-seeking people are in the drug cartel. You're left with the stupid and meek doing every day work as citizens. Which is why they don't mind fertilizing their fields with untreated pig crap; then they get bacon lung and pass it onto first world tourists.

Everybody's missing the true link. There was that California beauty contestant pointing to the true cause, and nobody wanted to listen....just like when AIDS broke out...

Nice thoughts CnFlght but you know if we had tried to modernize Mexican hospitals and sanitation we would have been condemned for being imperialists and meddling in another country's business.

It was once said that a black man would be president "When Pigs Fly."

Indeed 100 days into Obama's presidency.

...wait for it...

Yeah, let's give a really corrupt country more free money. I'm sure they'll spend it well and on the right things. Like when we spent all that money training and equiping an elite counter drug unit, that then went and formed their own cartel.

Or we could throw all our money in a big burn pit. Use it to power a generator or something.
