You do have to admit, at least Nichols killed people quickly. Most didn't suffer at all or only for a few seconds. That's more than what can be said about allot of other people.

It's amazing how many Fark Liberals are opposed to torturing suspected terrorists yet feel it's fine to torture domestic convicted terrorists. They're not trying to get any information out of him that they think would be beneficial to national security, they just want him to feel some pain that the families of those people have to deal with for the rest of their lives.

Um, can we stop calling it torture? He's being fed the same thing every other inmate is. If he has a health problem, he should get it diagnosed. If there's a medical reason for him to get a different diet, he should get it. But it's not torture now, and even if they decided not to give him a special diet, it wouldn't be torture then. That's not what torture is.

I don't believe a disagreeable diet is torture. To suggest this is to dilute the term torture and invalidate further arguments against real torturous experiences done which we should rail against. Thumb screws are torturous, water-boarding is torturous, a lack of fiber in your diet is not.

Let him stay backed up.

Let me explain my view more clearly on this topic. And please, there is no reason to use profanities with me or to accuse me of condoning something I do not.

My view: torture is never acceptable under any circumstances. It cannot even be used against someone who has used torture. Nichols sentence is to remain imprisoned and live out the rest of his life in jail. This is what our justice system has sentenced him to, and it should be respected as the rule of law.

I believe that a majority of the people close to me share a similar view. May I ask you if you consider yourself liberal or conservative?
