Debate as to whether marijuana should be legal aside, doesn't seem like an exceptionally bad idea so long as the stuff remains, you know, illegal.

Actually, I changed my mind just now. Damn those hippies and I hope they stop their evil baby-eating ways. You know all that Dope only fuels their craven need for creamy baby flesh.

So yes, clog the jails and prisons with those users, we 'square' folks will enjoy a much better quality of life. God bless the USA!

Well, we're making vets get their own medical insurance, why not this? Hey, maybe we can save a lot of taxpayer money by making people in jail pay for their own incarceration. I don't see any problems arising from that at all!

These aren't just the people who need marijuana for glaucoma and other illnesses, like being able to keep food down during chemotherapy.

No, a lot of these pricks load up on the stuff, then go, "Medicinal!" when the cops show up. And there's always doctors who will write marijuana prescriptions for nothing more than a headache.

Many of these idiots are dealers under the guise of medical marijuana use.

Hell, why not charge them for the ride to the station and a nominal fee for handcuff rental. If they are overweight you can hit them for double fee on the handcuffs AND slap them with an excessive tire wear and fuel surcharge. But let's not stop there, tazers, pepperspray and latex gloves costs can add up, not to mention the ink needed to run their prints. Frankly, it's a shame that inmates have been given a free ride on their O2 intake while awaiting trial.

QFT. Pot has legit medicinal uses, but as long as we're waging our War On Drugs, the govt won't pause to examine legit uses.

I don't smoke weed, but if someone can make legit medical use of it, I'm not going to stand in the way.

Good. It should be legal entirely, I'm glad for anything that at least mimics that.

/Plus, marijuana helps stress. We all need that.

It's technically legal to grow up to 12 plants(6 female) as a California medical marijuana patient. FYI.

I agree. They already love laying around in the filth; they might as well be stoned out of their tiny swine brains.

Or they could be sold in licensed stores, with taxes on growers and buyers. But go ahead, keep spending billions on trying to eradicate the cultivation and consumption of a weed.

2009-04-22 01:16:44 AM
Irony:

If/when pot becomes legal, there will be so many smoking bans across the country, that it will be illegal to light up at your local weed shop.

/Haven't used it since college.
//But if it's legal, I would support the rights of business owners to allow smoking in their establishments.

Cool, I thought you had to have it seasoned a certain way. Or let it ferment first before consuming.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds. Marijuana is the ONLY industry in Mendo County. You'd think they'd be going out of their way to stimulate the pot economy, not inhibit it.

I thought pot was legal in CA?? If it's legal there, why would the counties be destroying it? I know it's still illegal federally, but the federal govt. has to deal with it if the federal government wants it siezed and/or destroyed.

For all the uneducated, yeah it's legal here, at least according to state law (the feds are still a pain in the pooper). BUT, it's legal for medicinal marijuana growers to grow ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF ACTUAL USERS. Each person with an actual prescription can have up to a certain number of plants (read the article)for their dealer, but after that, it becomes growing for public consumption/sale.

If you're an idiot grower, you grow too many plants, and then you end up on the stupid jackass list where you have your plants destroyed. If you're smart, you grow only the amount of plants you are allowed to grow per customer, and then maybe you sell off the extra (not that I would ever advocate that kind of end run around the law). The secret? Don't be a greedy moron and you won't have to worry about having your crop destroyed.
