I sort of want to know why it is that the only source we ever see for any of these OMGNANNYSTATE! stories is the Daily Mail.

Because the more stories like that you put out the more you attract that kind of reader, then the more you have to do to satisfy that kind of reader. Kind of like how Fox news is full of incredible amounts of shiat.

But then they might be at risk! The home is the leading location of accidents, after all!

Obviously, they must be relocated to "safety camps" where the state can watch them all the time.

Ok, this story demands a Nanny state tag. That hurt to read.

I know Canada has the Canadian Broadcasting Company... The US had the Public Broadcasting Company... doesn't the UK have something similar... perhaps some kind of British...

Why do all the stories we get come from the Daily Mail. Is it a legit news source or is the Fox of England?

Didn't anyone read TFA:

Retailers have been accused of letting health and safety concerns get in the way of sprucing up Abergele's main shopping area.

They fear they wouldn't be insured if staff injured themselves watering plants, so have decided not to supply hanging baskets this year

This generation of brits is scarcely different from the one that fought hitler - it is our managers/administrators who are the useless idiots.

This whole insurance/compensation culture is one which we have imported from the USA.

It's better for US troops to have Brits there. It provides more targets for the bad guys to shoot at.

Sh*tty deal, mate... sorry if that is true. It does appear to have thrived there, adding a business aspect to empower the overbearing town councils into full madness. Your town councils and our public school seem to have a lot in common in that respect.

Then get the balls to throw those managers out on their butts. The entire nation is nothing but a bunch of gutless wonders if you allow this crap to go on. Making excuses is cowardly.

You may have imported the culture from the USA, but you mutated the fark out of it. We have hanging baskets all over the place and as to date, I don't believe they have attacked anybody.

No, soldiers in action are specifically exempted from the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Also, bombs are specifically exempted from the European Pressure Systems Safety Directive, so they're permitted to fly apart when in use.

Them lawyers think of most things.

Even if it's private traders that have imposed the ban and the article even quotes a local government councillor complaining about it? This story is basically the exact opposite of nanny statism.

You know, they could use water guns to...

Oh wait, I forgot. This is England, someone might shoot their balls off trying to load one.

Maybe they should attach sprinklers to the CCTV camera's. That might do the trick. Hey, better idea! They could color the water yellow, so it would be even more appropriate when they get hosed.
