GimpyNip: Orton went nuts with the tats in the past year

Yea he was trying to make his shiatty tribal look like something other than shiatty tribal. Didnt work.

Pretty good spot right here. And with Vinny Mac coming out it should only get better. I love how he is the ultimate heel, leaves for a few months, comes back, and everyone loves him again.

GimpyNip: Rev Theory - Voices (new window)

That was quick! Thank you! But I was talking about the Wrestlemania Recap music. It had an electronica sort of sound to start it off.

Are they ever going to resolve the "set falling on Vince after Million dollar mania" storyline?

Accolade: talking about the Wrestlemania Recap music

Wasn't paying attention to the music. So, not sure.

Maybe Shane could be in Legacy? It would make sense why his punches looked so fake everytime he ran out, and it would make sense as he is 3rd generation. Shane turns heel by Backlash?

I think they hope people forgot about that.

I wouldnt mind seeing that. I have always been a Shane-O-Mac fan. He is pretty much a hardcore rules only guy but he is willing to put it on the line for the company.

Gunny Highway: Ugh. 6 Man Tag at Backlash? shiatty.

I thought this is what the feud originally deserved. I hate thinking about these things too much because we could surely deconstruct them into oblivion, so I never know how far to go with it...

I'm having a hard time figuring out just who the Mr. McMahon character is. I know that Vince McMahon is the owner of the WWE and that his family members hold various posts in the business... what I don't understand is why the character, Mr. McMahon, wouldn't have done more in retaliation to Orton. Maybe that's what we're seeing right now.

Probably, but don't you kind of have to turn Shane heel in the 6-man? What is the point otherwise? The hole in that is that nobody really benifited from Vince getting knocked out by the set. But, it is wrestling so they can just make up some BS about Shane wanting power and how Legacy is the new Generation and it is time for Vince, Shawn, Undertaker, HHH, etc to get lost.

RKO vs VKM

God, I hope Vince gets taken off of TV again...

And now they're making up for last night by having a tag rematch actually on TV.

Well, because you have to have some pathos there. Sure, in the real world Orton would be getting the Benoit/Savage treatment. In the Sports Entertainment World he has to be a foil. His daughter motivates him, his daughter was attacked by Orton, Orton is a heel and by proxy Vince is a face.

Can't complain about that. I just hope Kid Rock isn't in the building.

Has anyone been to a recent live RAW? Those red lights on the crowd seem like they'd be wicked annoying.

Yea I think that is what they are doing now. I think what Gimpy is suggesting makes alot of sense.

Damn I havent seen Carlito wrestle since he left Raw. Two years back I thought they were going to dump his gimmick, cut his hair, and give him a serious push. The kid has talent and he as all but disappeared. Morrison is a good wrestler but he just sucks on the mic. I am hoping they do something with Carlito in that draft.

What is Kevin Sullivan up to? They need to dig him up and start a new Dungeon of Doom with Goldust, Khali, Ed Lashlie, Vicera, and change Mark Henry to Killer Whale and we're set

I was but I was against the back wall. My friends and I were sitting in a sea of 7 year olds so we had to be on our best behavior. Luckily there isnt really a bad seat in the Providence Civic Center.

Gunny Highway: Morrison is a good wrestler but he just sucks on the mic.

I like him and think he's pretty funny. What ever happened to his old partner?

I also wonder how many people totally don't get his gimmick. Even though he's so blatantly ripping off the style of the similarly named singer, I still think he pulls it off.

Morrison is awesome. If he stays healthy and the WWE gets behind him as a single he can be a Chris Jericho or HBK type.

I know Lita was kind of a whore but I still think she was the sexiest diva the WWE ever had.

2009-04-06 09:34:19 PM
The annoying thing about Cena is that he just doesn't have the charisma that the WWE thinks he does. The guy isn't the Rock. The Rock was hilarious and quick. Cena is Paul Walker with muscles and without a number 1 movie.

GimpyNip: I know Lita was kind of a whore but I still think she was the sexiest diva the WWE ever had.

Nah.

Sunny.

It's all about Sunny.

Miss Elizabeth was far too wholesome (as a character, anyway) to think about that way.

But man, I wanted to f*ck Sunny six ways from Sunday.

I agree. I really dont see it at all. Everything he says seems so contrived. But I am not supposed to be a Cena fan I dont think.

2009-04-06 09:36:28 PM
Gunny Highway: RevMercutio: Watch him in TNA. He's still not any good. He's just tall.

I do. I like him alot. Cant explain it but I enjoy him on the mic and in the ring.

You don't like Punk, yet you see something in Matt Morgan? Fark, to each his own, but shiat, dude.

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: Sunny.

It's all about Sunny.

Sunny got up to 225 lbs a few years ago due to drug addiction and Candido dieing. She lost it and looks a lot better now. She was in the Dive batttle royal last night. Did you see Trish Stratus on the Raw 15th anniv show? She looked a lot better without the muscle.

Meh, I don't know about Matt Morgan but I don't think Punk is that awesome. He'd make a good IC or ECW champ. He can't cut a promo.

robsul82: You don't like Punk, yet you see something in Matt Morgan? Fark, to each his own, but shiat, dude.

I cant explain it. It isnt that I dont like Punk, I just dont think he should have got his push yet. Keep him in the IC division where Rey, Kane, Jericho, etc can help build his credibility.

GimpyNip: echoshizzle: Watched it online just to see Taker/HBK. Luckily I didn't miss any of that match.

Outstanding. Still bothers me the WWE can't have matches that great all the time. A match with about 20 almost pinfalls is awesome.

It's too bad WWE sucks for the most part nowadays.

If you have 20 near falls in every match, than what would a great match have to have? 40 near falls? There are only so many you can do. My only crit of HBK/Taker was that there were too many honest kick outs from finishers. I know they had to ratchet up the suspense because nobody who follows this stuff thought the WWE would sacrifice Taker's streak here.

I hope they do Hell in a Cell II at Backlash.

HIAC II would be awesome.

I can accept the honest kickouts from the finishers because it was WrestleMania. It's well-established in both characters ('Taker even said this year "I treat WrestleMania as a chance to show my peers why I am The Phenom" and blah blah etc. and HBK's "Mr. WrestleMania") that they dig deeper than absolutely everyone else to be great at the biggest show of the year. Thus, I didn't have a problem with it. Five stars, more evidence Shawn Michaels is the best there ever was.

Oh god, my Trishy looked SO INCREDIBLE!

Best thing Gail Kim ever did was show her tits for a Korean cell phone ad.

My diva favorite seems to change fairly regularly.

I feel like, lately, I can't tell a lot of them apart.

I like the woman that can actually "wrestle", so I trend towards Victoria (yep) and Mickey James, though James looks like her back is broken sometimes (like she's constantly sticking her chest out).

I cannot fault anyone for saying Sunny, Lita, Maria, etc..

Holy crap! Gail Kim!

Yeah, Cena is the ARod of wrestling. This guy who does everything he can to make himself likeable and he just isn't.

If you look at Natty Neidhart you can see the Anvil...it really ruins any sex appeal she may have had.

How many chances has he had in WWE? Beyond that, his heel promos are fantastic - he's only ever been a face in WWE.

Just put him in the World title division and give him the Bret Hart push - he's not the biggest, he's not the strongest, but he's the most talented wrestler and THAT matters more than anything else.

Natty Neidhart.

Man, it's a toss up between her and Beth Phoenix on who I'd let snoo snoo me to death.

God willing, it would be both.

Good comparison. Thank God for those 5-year-olds annoying their parents into buying them John Cena T-shirts, because that guy would be lost without those merch sales.

/and FARK yes is her parentage obvious

I was at a party a few months back and met a girl with the last name Neidhart. I had to ask if she was related to The Anvil and she said she was his neice. I wouldnt have believed her only she was a girl my age who actually knew who I was talking about when I referred to "The Anvil"

I didn't know audiences in Texas were full of smarks - from booing Cena out of the building, popping huge for Christian's near-win in MITB, to tonight's continued "Orton" and "RKO" chants and the boos Triple H just got...Vince probably isn't going to be happy with the crowds.

robsul82: more evidence Shawn Michaels is the best there ever was.

Shawn Michaels is the best there ever was because not only does he do the match but he does the build AND he does the entrance. I thought the HBK descending from a podium and Taker doing the Gangrel rise from hell was a great touch. Shawn is kind of like brother love, too. Dude, love ya and all but come on, you're still the arogant prick we all know and love.

Also, when did he get the Stweart Scott eye? That can't be good.

Oh, sure - not only is Shawn the greatest wrestler of all time, but the greatest entertainer on top of it. Sorry, Flair, but HBK's better than you.

/Rock's promos relied a bit too heavily on singalongs

Definitely digging that we're seeing Ricky Steamboat again - I was amazed at how well he was doing for a guy who has been retired for 15 years.

In any case, it'd be a fark of a lot better than pushing him as a lucky fluke champion and reinforcing it relentlessly by having the commentators never fail to mention that Punk didn't deserve to keep the World title after every defense. I mean, thanks for that Wellness title reign, Vince, but you didn't have to make it obvious how much you didn't want to do it.

The specific problem is that The Rock wasn't scripted, and Cena is. When you get Cena off the script and he has to go on his own, it works.
