this used to be the RULE not the EXCEPTION here in Chicago a few years back....
2003-02-06 02:11:11 PM
Wasn't there a movie about that a few years ago? About some postal worker who dated a stripper and buried all the mail in his back yard...

Just curious as to what exactly did he think he was going to be doing when he applied for the job. "I'll take your damn mailman job but I am NOT going to be walking around delivering mail all the damn time!!"
2003-02-06 02:13:08 PM
Cliff Claven is not ammused.
2003-02-06 02:13:23 PM

Now they have a new tactic in Chicago - deliver only every other day.

My neighbor wrote a note and attached it to the mailbox because she found her W-2 on the street in the snow outside our building. Big mistake in writing the note - now the mailperson hasn't delivered any mail in 2 days.

Hoping for mail today,

So thats what happened to all my mail order Brides....
2003-02-06 02:14:46 PM
At one time the post office wanted to get into the email buisness (probably to get ride of these slackers).

Hmmmm. I don't feel like typing that long spool file name to transfer these million emails, I'll just hit DELETE.
2003-02-06 02:15:28 PM

H3ll, some guys just BURNED the mail.
2003-02-06 02:15:54 PM
I really don't blame her, I wouldn't want to deliver mail in canada either. Its cold....snowy...and dull of people that speak funny (please see flame war on the pregnant ladies phone call).

Hmmm....funny. I know I haven't been getting my mail lately.

I wonder if that biatch had anything to do with it.
2003-02-06 02:18:58 PM
ZipBeep...good luck.
2003-02-06 02:19:12 PM

How do I get rid of these annoying popups on the desktop from "Messenger service." like the one below...

This is a repeat. If I remember correctly the guy had a pet letter-eating-wombat, and a stamp collecting trollusk, living in his basement.

2003-02-06 02:21:27 PM
Wareagle...i have no idea...i have a popup stopper, but that doesn't stop the kind you have there. and what's worse, most of those i get are advertising popup stoppers =P
2003-02-06 02:21:41 PM
yawn... when I first discovered fark, a story just like this one was one of the first that I explored. How hard is it to deliver mail. Granted, when it's cold or extremely hot , raining, snowing... real windy..ok ok..but still

The headline was redundant.

Boy, if I didn't get my mail, I don't know what I would do. Credit Card offers, Have-You-Seen-Me cards, and coupons for Ty-D-Bowl.

Am I the only one that thinks of this whenever I hear about cAnAdA?

That's a great way to market your products..."hey we just used an exploit (well, not really) to put an annoying message on your screen. If you want them to stop, please send us money"

Info (should cover nt/2k/xp)
1. Click on the Start button and open the control panel.
2. Open the Performance and Maintenance control panel and go to Administrative Tools.
3. Now double-click on Services, then scroll to Messenger.
4. Double-click Messenger and click Stop to stop the service.
5. Change the startup type to Disable

Crazy mailman: Well now that they took my mail I guess all I have left to do is go crazy and blow up the post office!

Yah, living in Chicago that was a great excuse.

"Dude, I sent the payment two weeks ago! The mailman
probably lost it...yeah!"

They should cut her some slack. It sounds like she was getting like ~60-70% delivered.
It's not as good as my averge though (~80%), (I deliver vital organs to doctors from the cononers office).
Although I have to admit, it's only recently gone up since my fridge has become full.
