2003-02-06 10:52:37 AM
Freeleee, no. The upside is your lactose intolerance would be cured. However, if you start growing breasts and producing milk, you should probably consult a doctor.
2003-02-06 12:07:10 PM
Awww... but they're so cute!

Did someone say mutant pig?

[image from too old to be available]
2003-02-06 05:41:42 PM
"May?" Hell, I'd feel a little cheated if it didn't!
2003-02-06 05:42:47 PM
"Your hot dog may contain mutant pig meat"

Uh, duh!
It had better!
2003-02-06 05:42:55 PM
Not if you eat kosher hot dogs.
2003-02-06 05:43:00 PM
These mutant pigs you speak of, they wouldn't happen to teenage ninjas as well?
2003-02-06 05:43:11 PM
yeah, like if we don't care about the lips and assholes, but the mutated genes are going to scare us off.
2003-02-06 05:45:07 PM
You're lucky if you even GET anything resembling pig meat in your hot dog. It's probably more fecal material and rat than anything else.
2003-02-06 05:45:44 PM
Piggy man, piggy man
does whatever a piggy can
dig a rut, any size
catches corn, just like fries
look out here comes the piggy man
2003-02-06 05:46:39 PM
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle meat not included.

What's with a little altered DNA, at least it's not donkey meat with a side of shrapnel
2003-02-06 05:47:52 PM
feed the damn things to the Al queda prisoners at Guantonamo bay...that and an occasional ass whoopin
2003-02-06 05:49:17 PM
are they ill-tempered hot dogs?
</dr evil>
2003-02-06 05:49:21 PM
I stopped eating pork when a good friend of mine revealed that some of the pigs from a lab he was doing research at may have been sold for breeding purposes.

The research revolved around introducing human DNA into pigs in order to produce proteins which controlled fat production. (and eventually in theory humans)

Egads, Professor Xavior is going to have a cow when he finds out where is missing students are.

Genetic Engineering...Its what's for dinner?
2003-02-06 05:51:34 PM
I'd rather have a hot dog containing mutant pig meat than a frontal lobotomy.
2003-02-06 05:52:00 PM
Whoa. No one ever told me what goes into my hotdogs. Let's see if I keep eating them now. Oh, wait.
2003-02-06 05:54:19 PM
This is why you're not supposed to eat hot dogs without consuming alcohol. The alcohol destroys all questionable foreign substances! DUH!
2003-02-06 05:55:39 PM

Oh bother.

Mmmmm... Mutant sausage.
2003-02-06 06:00:48 PM
This is why you eat these (the package on the right):

[image from too old to be available]

No mutant pig meat in those. Mutant cow meat, possibly, but that's an entirely different story.

That, and they're the best-tasting hot dogs outside of a ballpark.
2003-02-06 06:04:55 PM
Mutant? At no extra charge? No, wait, I'm sure they're gonna charge extra for this.
2003-02-06 06:05:12 PM
Heh heh heh...weener wranglers.
2003-02-06 06:08:05 PM
Anyone who would willingly eat a hot dog deserves to eat mutant meat.
2003-02-06 06:09:08 PM
Silly people. The damn pigs aren't dangerous. Hell, I live at UIUC and I'm still gonna eat the pork.
2003-02-06 06:12:01 PM
Girl_friday...think very carefully about your comment.

Stage 1. Mouse feces.

Stage 2. Mole hair.

Stage 3. Mutant pig meat.

Well, my hot dog contains 100% lovin'...

2003-02-06 06:24:58 PM
Where does PETA stand on this issue?
2003-02-06 06:33:22 PM
Well, PETA thinks the pigs should be kept alive in nice little indoor pens. If it gets chilly, they might need a sweater (think of the turkeys, how could they survive *in the wild*, but not wool because wool is only a couple steps away from murder. These same pigs should live lives of ease and comfort, while people starve, despite the fact that they are made of delicious mutant pork.

In other news, they probably taste pretty damned good.
2003-02-06 06:35:23 PM
OK, there should be a closing parenthesis after "in the wild" and the pigs, not the starving, are the ones composed of mutant pork. As far as we know at least.
2003-02-06 06:35:43 PM
No offense, Girl_friday, but the simple fact is that no one knows if it's safe or not.

At first glance, sure, it seems like it should be safe. But anyone in food or drug safety knows that that don't mean shiat, especially in the long run.

What's sad is that the government desperately wants us to trust GM (genetically modified) food products . . . and yet they're so hopelessly incompetent at regulating them. Both in terms of research and safety.

It's pathetic. And not trust-inspiring.
2003-02-06 06:36:11 PM
As long as the weiner doesn't come to life and attack me, that's just fine.

Genetically-engineered pigle...come ON! Not like we'd taste the difference between it and some hick inbred pig.
2003-02-06 06:38:31 PM
Actually, your standard hot dog is mostly water. As much as 80% water, for some brands.

Typically, the next main ingredient is fat. For different brands, the next ingredient is meat, salt, or vegetable protein.

Regardless of what you're eating . . . if you bought it at the store, you might be best off not inquiring (or looking) too closely. Or else just learn to live with it. Those are pretty much your options, for most people.
2003-02-06 06:39:20 PM
Girl_friday: I live in Central IL too and I'll probably still eat it.
2003-02-06 06:40:08 PM
"Never trust a hotdog"
2003-02-06 06:41:28 PM
Never eat meat that's round.
2003-02-06 06:43:18 PM
But if you do, stick with Hebrew National.
I want a meat inspector that will be damned if he's going to let nasty crap into the product.
