There is no legal way to prevent ANYBODY, no matter how effed up, from making their own baby. You can order them away from other peoples kids, you can even take theirs away after they have them, but you can't stop anybody from reproducing. Strange, in a society where you need proper certification to paint other people's fingernails.

The fact that the kid made the request at age 4 doesn't sound, eh, developmentally appropriate. Makes you wonder what he'd experienced before that.

Not quite true. Legal, court ordered, forced sterilization is still an option available to states for some situations. And personally, IMO, not an option used often enough.

10 years is a bit excessive. Kinda. Isn't four yrs old about the time you are supposed to be teaching kids about bodies and privacy, right and wrong? She blew a great teaching opportunity.

And even if Mom hadn't walked in, 4 yr. olds TALK and have no concept of secrets! The best place for them to reveal all they know is in a crowded restaurant or grocery store for maximum embarrassment.

No, it does not. However, depending on the circumstances (such as sex offender probation), she could have not been allowed to be in contact with the child after it was born.

And I agree with some others - the child asked to see the nanny naked at 4? That doesn't seem like typical 4-year old behavior. Makes me think this wasn't the first time that this had happened.

I think if it was a male babysitter that 10 years would have been the MINIMUM for the amount of JAIL time - probation probably would have lasted damn near indefinitely.

Kids come from vaginas. Who makes sure that their eyes are closed on the way out? They might see something naughty... Never mind breastfeeding!
