Article seems to be missing something....

"grabbed Shawn Rauch by the throat in the police station, shoved him against a wall and called him a slur for a homosexual"

Okay....but WAS HE ACTUALLY GAY? Either I missed it, or as always, the media is turning him calling the guy a f a g g o t into something it isn't.

How did a jury find someone not guilty of DUI? Where was the evidence proving the person was or wasn't drunk while driving? don't they keep that stuff?

Seriously, it can't be THAT easy to just randomly assign some number over .08% to people you pull over and have it actually stick.

Cops are gay.

Isn't it actually incredibly difficult to falsify a DUI? Aren't you only ever charged when the test is validated at the station using the more accurate machine or a blood test? It's hard to fake those without a fair amount of work and intelligence that this officer probably doesn't possess.

"License and registration please."
"What seems to be the problem officer?"
"Do you have any idea how gay were going back there?"
"No, I was just listening to some music..."
"My gaydar shows you listening to 'The Best of Liza Minelli.' Sir, what is that in the center console?"
"That? Uh, nothing, just some trash. It's not even mine."
"Sir, is that a Rent ticket stub? I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the car..."

People are routinely charged with DUI before any tests are done. Around here the obligation to incriminate yourself only begins after you are arrested. In D.C., where I gather the roadside "preliminary" pre-arrest test is mandatory they would arrest you no matter what you blew. In Virginia a guy crashed after midnight and police found an empty beer can in the car so they charged him with DUI. That's all they had -- early morning wreck, empty beer can -- but it fit the profile. Blood test from the hospital came back 0.00%.

If you get a jury trial, you can tell the jury your side of the story. Sometimes it works.

Not really. On the old S&W machines (that a lot of departments still use) all it takes is a twist of a dial or switch it into test mode. ALWAYS demand a blood test if the state you are stopped in allows it. You will have to pay for it but it's worth the money if it clears you.

Good job MADD. Shouldn't you commend someone for making arrests that lead to convictions instead?

So if I call someone a n*gger, I'm only being racist if the person is actually black?

If you call someone who is white a white n*gger, that's when you start having problems.

2009-04-03 09:58:26 AM
what OldScotch said. (Ihatemydumbself, are you stupid or just trolling?)

It's not illegal to be gay, at least not from where I'm posting, or where the article comes from....

The guy was praised by MADD, which immediately puts him in the Douchebag category as far as I'm concerned.

The more shiat like this happens, ans the more people stand up for themselves...the better for us all. This cop obviously never heard of stonewall

2009-04-03 10:06:53 AM
this cop probably was loking for the following : pink triangles; equality messages; rainbows; Human Rights Campaign symbols; ertc. Or he was trolling outside of gay owned busineses and bars. It is not uncommon they played this game in Kalamazoo, MI about 10 years ago when i was @ WMU

In these days of "political correctness" though, just calling a homosexual a homosexual could be considered a slur.

Did Drew put on the filter for homosexual slurs? Don't want to risk getting the banhammer, but I wonder if the filter would change these slurs to "Attractive and Successful LGBT Person"?

It should be filtered to "Fabulous and Successful Homosexual-American."

Who's to say if only assholes are attracted to becoming cops, or if the job just turns ordinary people into assholes? In either case I propose a four year term limit on all police officers. At least those that have to interact with the public on a daily basis. After four years you're either put behind a desk or discharged.

/That's me being nice

This cop was assigned to the Town Hall District, which is right in the middle of Boys Town in Chicago. The police station is at the corner of Addison and Halsted. All this cop needed to do was walk outside the precinct HQ and he'd run into dozens of gays. No need for any sort of sophisticated gaydar there.

From the article, Fiorito made up DUI charges in a scheme to earn extra overtime pay.

Nice.

No. There's no reason for it not to go back to a better test at the station, but they often don't. Occasionally the cases are based on officer observation without tests at all. There have been several articles linked to here about times where officers used form reports and all their DUIs sounded the same.
I had an officer try to charge me with DUI, and he claimed I blew twice the limit (had no drinks). When I mentioned that I couldn't drink and it should be fun bringing in a doctor about my allergies, he freaked a bit and let me go. Obviously he thought he'd be able to make it stick just fine, simply because I was young and driving near a college, without any alcohol involved at all.

This farker arrested friend of mine on a trumped up DUI charge back in '07. Called him a fag, same deal. No breath test, no blood test, nothing.

/tossed out by the DA, thank god

That's no pass. Why insult someone for being effeminate, regardless of sexuality?
