At first I figured this was at the St. Pete Times forum. I was there for when the Wings came down to rip on the Lightning. I was in the 8th row but decided to go check out the view from the upper bowl. I found the up escalators and check it out (nice view, though very steep stair incline for the seats) and then I decided to go back down before the game started. I must have circled that farker atleast 3 times before finally convincing myself THERE WAS NO DOWN ESCALATOR. So I looked around for stairs... nothing. I ended up having to ask a security guard how the fark to get down. And he directed me that I had to go around the cornor through a couple double doors and THEN there were stairs to go to the bottom level. People who design some of these places are RETARDED so, I don't necessarily blame her. Though.... she doesnt seem to be getting anywhere so she's better off asking where the up escalator is.

The United Center in Chicago, and I imagine most other recently-built/escalator equipped-arenas, has the same setup. It's really just for crowd management. Most (probably 99.9%) of the people using escalators before/at the beginning of the game are going up. Most people (essentially 100% I would assume) are going down at the end. It makes sense.

Also, drunk people can be super annoying. That is all.

Escalators are reversible. Blame the staff for not keeping at least one in "down" mode.

I will award her points for persistence and the ability to hold however much beer it took for her to think this was a good idea.

the crowd of people gathering with cellphones to take video of that bit of fail was what made it worth LOLing for me.

... however SpwimmingInNY has a point. a minute and half of stairs through a crowd with no pausing takes a steely determination. so though i don't know the reasons behind it i am pretty sure this is more sad than amusing, which makes the guys with the cellphones asshats and me a jerk for laughing at it.
