But the officer told me I wouldn't get another DUI if I stayed on my barstool until I was sober!

Seems to me a motorized bar stool isn't the world's greatest idea.

The wheelbase is too small and the stool is too high = tips over when in a turn.

Ha! His lawn mower must have been in the shop.

Where's the trailer/cooler?

Greatest invention everywhere. I would love to just drive my way into a bar and up to the counter and say "Why good sir, I will take a beer".

I'm sure the world will be a better place because officer Buzzkill was around to write a thousand dollar ticket.. Asswipe..

Mr stool rider should've denied all of it but I suppose he was probably pretty shloshed if he managed to crash it at 20mph. Still though, how much danger could be be? A running fat man could cause more havoc.

Have you seen what happens when B&W copies of your butt in a thong get bandied about the office?

I almost lost my membership to the "Manly, Man Hunting Club & Golf Course"

Seems to me if the guy could remain seated on a barstool that was traveling 38MPH he wasn't drunk.

Especially one that does about 40mph. Jeesus, why not just make one that'll do 65 and take it on the highway.

I'll never get the OUI in a non registered vehicle, that you can't even get a license for. They just need a moron tax: $100, as that should in no way cause a change in insurance costs or hold up the courts.

/shouldn't be illegal to drive one of those sober

Now that's an RTFA article.

/ Suprised there's no rants and anger on abuse of police power.

sorry OVI

This is serious judicial abuse. This man is being cited for being a risk, but the citation outweighs the penalties for any of the outcomes risked.
Hooray for cops overreacting.

Why does this sound like the premise for a Cheers episode?

"Whacha got there, Norm?"

"Why, it's a motorized barstool, Woody..."

1. Does that also include a breathalyzer?
2. Newark, OH only has one cop? Now I know where and when to go on my next crime spree.

I call bullshiat on the "driving while under suspension" charge.
Unless in that county, you're required to have a valid driver's license to operate (what amounts to) a go-kart.

I've been there. Trust me when I say there would be no point. There's nothing to steal, and the people are just waiting around to die.

Squidbillies! Yaaaaay!

Early! Early! Early! (I discovered recently that Early is a real name in Ireland. That explains the red hair, unless he got it from his fat Shut-Out Momma.) Judging from this (new window)map, the Earlies must have moved into Georgia from near-by Tennessee.

I wonder if I still have Bill Griffeth's email address?

Something tells me that there's at least one good Zippy the Pinhead cartoon in this item somewhere.

Are we having fun yet?

Motorized bar stool! Motorized bar stool! Motorized bar stool!

I'm thinking, maybe Zippy could go In Search of the Real America on a motorized barstool.

FTFA"Ohio law prohibits anyone from operating a motorized vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The law excludes wheelchairs and mobility scooters"
Am I the only one, who after reading this, pictured a bunch of handicapped (I'm sorry handi-capable) people rolling down the street, weaving everywhere, drugged/drunk out of their minds? Or getting into an electric wheelchair or onto one of those scooter thingies, even though you're fully capable of walking, and burning down the road yourself when drunk? Good times would be had by all.

So is it motorized if it's a couple of hamsters in a cage?

/BTW, if you are ever forced to visit Newark, it is pronounced Nerk by the natives.
