From TFA: One of the abstract pieces which Ziggy produced under his owner's watchful eye.

Call me when the dog paints something that is not abstract.

Fact Man: sloppy shoes: My problem with the "ugly-ass" meme is it fails to distinguish between actual cute, 'awwww' worthy pictures and this monster, who is indeed ugly-ass.

That's what I was thinking. I can't decide if ugly-ass was comedically contradictory, or actually descriptive. I prefer the former, but in this case, it's the latter.

Ugly ass-puppy. Yes, it is.

Ehhh....strapping a paintbrush to a dogs head and then shoving him in front of a canvas does not constitute "painting".

Art is communication, it has intent. This is just random paint strokes. No art here.

The elephant images are intriguing though, any more info on that guy? I've seen video of elephants painting before but nothing resembling actual reality.

I agree. Even shiatty paintings in hotel rooms convey a message.

/that message is " I need more money for scotch and hookers"

This dog isn't painting any more than this penguin is painting.

i72.photobucket.com

The biologists at Moody Gardens in Galveston have the penguins walk through paint and across canvas as an "enrichment activity" for the penguins. Then they sell the "penguin paintings" to raise money for extra treats for the penguins and conservation.

They usually seem to enjoy walking through the paint, but it's more like the biologist is using the penguin to paint on the canvas.

Man! This dog can't paint for shiat!

Haplo127x: DirkValentine: Haplo127x: Toriko: Is it just me, or do the brush-strokes in the image of the dog painting look NOTHING LIKE the brush strokes on the finished works?

In other words - FAKE

Plus the fact that the brush in the photo is backwards, he's 'painting' with the wooden end of it.

no, i think you're wrong on this one.

i'm not saying i give a shiat about this particular dog, but that's a brush with paint the little dog is holding.

Take a better look at the first photo. The brush end with the metal piece is not on the paper, it's up against the paper tube. The end on the paper is the wooden end.

While I do agree with the "shenanigans" call, the brush is facing the correct way. The thing at the top of the brush by the roll is a barcode sticker.

I've can tell from the pixels and from having bought many paintbrushes in my day.

FTA: Ziggy the Pekingese terrier begins to paint while proud owner Elizabeth Monacelli looks on

A Peke is not a terrier, they're in the toy group.

I had a pekingese when I was a kid, she was a good dog except for the whole biting thing if a stranger got in her face.

Jubeebee: Gish21: This guy's not impressed.

That is simultaniously creepy, awesome, and depressing that an elephant is self-aware enough to paint a passable representation of itself with a saddle on.

Dang it, I didn't notice the saddle, now I'm gonna cry

They're great dogs. I have one myself. What's great (I think) about them is that they're not like other breeds who just trust and befriend anyone and follow orders like brainless drones. You have to work for everything.

We have a Maltese-Pekinese. Loves the hell out of my wife and me, and likes/tolerates a half dozen other people, but if she doesn't know you, she'll put a hurt on your ankle in a heartbeat. Luckily the one time it happened was a friend and she was cool about it.

Is there a video of that? I find it impossible to believe.

Actually your wrong, abstract does have some hint patterns that art enthusiasts look for in abstract paintings. I also believe the paintings are a fake... the strokes has no overlapping really makes this painting look faked...
