I wanna know who the stoned freak is that sits around watching movies with background CDs playing all day long....

one thing to tell him/her...... GET A LIFE!
2001-09-04 12:21:50 AM
AWWWWWWWWWWWWW...two of my favorites.. I have the Rush album, my brother is gay. so I am sure he has the movie!
2001-09-04 12:22:27 AM
Oh christ, not RUSH. I hate these guys.

Geddy Lee needs to seriously grow a pair of testicles.

All it has to have is a few coincidences and the burn-out population will eat it up. People don't seem to remember that these all came out before VHS, CD's, and digital recording. Get the original recordings, the original film and show me more than a couple random coincidences. I sat through that Dark Side of OZ crap in a theater, may have been cool on acid I guess.

Willy Wonka. Cool movie. On last night. Kind of a surreal dream for kids. LSD inspired rooms AND candy. I'm there!

Note: When Willy (Gene Wilder) firsts appears to the public and walks from his office, down the red carpet rowards the gate, there's a point where he sticks his cane in a hole, pauses, and does a somersault. Ya' with me? Good. That was a complete accident. On 'Actor's Studio', he said that when the cane got stuck, because of the logistics of shooting that scene, he ad-libbed, did the flip and the producers loved it. The rest is history.

2112 rocks.

The picture of this guy's Rush tattoo pretty much told me that this guy was just sitting there trying to think of what movie this album would match up with best..."Pink Floyd sucks, Rush rocks, I'll show them..." I'm sure you could take any album and find a movie to stick it to. How about Styx's Mr. Roboto whatever album and that AI movie?
2001-09-04 02:02:10 AM
This guy is WAY too into Rush. I kinda liked them (when I was a teenager in high school) way back when, but really, a Rush tattoo? And I agree that the movie is great on its own. Weird, but in a good kind of way.

And when you get high and switch the tv channels really fast, sometimes the words from different shows like, match up and say stuff that is like, together.
2001-09-04 03:25:18 AM
how about this....

teletubbies (the episode that Tinky Winky gets his purse)and Elton John's "I'm still standing"???

Um, no I dont know about this willy wonka thing, but the Dark Side of Oz had over 70 similarities,

and you can play the album again, for the second half of the movie, and it remains insync

coincidence...i think not

Rush rules
2001-09-04 08:25:50 AM
With regards to the artistic contribution of Rush to the world, I would say that we the masses have paid the price, and that they, Rush, are counting the cost (contrary to earlier claims that they would not do this). The outstanding balance is found to be somewhat lacking on their behalf, and consequently I suggest we shoot them down like the dogs they are.

Has anyone made a movie-synced CD on purpose yet? Fans may "discover" these, but have any artists actually officially created a CD to match a movie?

If not, I think someone should... First Wizard of Oz, and now Willy Wonka, so the next logical step should be... Pee Wee's Big Adventure. OK?
2001-09-04 09:17:18 AM
I heard that Pink Floyd's "The Wall"
is secretly the sound track to the move of the same name.
2001-09-04 09:19:19 AM
I also heard that Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
can be synced to any movie starring Matthew Broderic....
weird, huh.
2001-09-04 10:20:57 AM
Rush is the greatest band of all time.
2001-09-04 10:58:47 AM
Try Tetsuo: the Iron Man while playing any industrial cd. Really, any cd.

ps: Rush blows
2001-09-04 11:02:37 AM
Argh. I can't believe there are fuckers in here bagging on Rush. You people are terrible...
2001-09-04 11:14:25 AM
Ohh sorry Macfrugal, you know your right! That new Nsync Album really kicks asss though!
2001-09-04 11:17:20 AM
Never seen Willy Wonka, but 2112, Moving Pictures, and Exit Stage Left are some kickass albums. To Auggie: I often sit and watch TV with music playing in the background and I haven't smoked pot for....well, uh....quite a long time now. I've found Moby is decent while playing a porno. Put it on fast forward and try it with Napalm Death sometime.
2001-09-04 11:20:04 AM

Rush is awesome !!!!!!
2001-09-04 12:18:31 PM
nice grammar, albert.

Play "Further Down the Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails on your CD player. Forward to the last track and fast forward through it. I swear Trent Rezner is telling you to trust Jesus.

Re: The cane accident--Bigpeeler, where did you hear that info? I just got the new WW DVD and in both the original featurette from 1971 and the interviews with the stars, Gene Wilder says that being allowed to do the "crippled guy does a somersault" scene was his idea and was so important to him that he made it a condition of his agreeing to play Wonka. He wanted to set WW up at the very beginning as a guy who was unpredictable and couldn't be taken at face value. There was a styrofoam brick there for him to put his cane in, so he had to time it perfectly.
2001-09-04 12:37:23 PM
Oops, sorry about the UBB code there...I forgot where I was. :)
2001-09-04 01:17:48 PM
Winterhawk: I saw that very piece of the DVD on some Entertainment Tonight kinda show lately... losing that cane was part of the conditions of the contract, according to Wilder.
2001-09-04 04:59:48 PM
If you play a Backstreet Boys album while watching Pearl Harbor, both the CD and the movie suck at EXACTLY THE SAME TIMES. Syncs up perfectly.
2001-09-04 06:55:11 PM
Rush sucks ass!!!!!
2001-09-04 08:26:53 PM
You can tell how bad a band sucks by how touchy their fans are. I guess you just get defensive after hearing they suck all the time.

PS. rush sucks
2001-09-04 08:48:33 PM
oompidi farkin dooo!!!
2001-09-04 09:13:20 PM
Dub G- that isn't quite what I ment, but ok.

oh, and I think RUSH pretty much sucks...

Geddy eats luke-warm whale cum..... TAKE THAT!! ;)
2001-09-04 09:14:26 PM
I'm glad that most of you hate Rush and like Wonka!

it is not two flavors that go together

Willy Wonka and the Umpa loompa's music works fine
2001-09-04 09:46:26 PM
"What about the voice of Geddy Lee-- how did it get so high? I wonder if he talks like an ordinary guy..."

"I know him, and he does!"

"Then you're my fact checkin' cuz.."
2001-09-04 10:26:59 PM
