I thought most of them were schooled right there in the workhouse.

Oh please, we're so much more advanced, we utilise the advanced pulling power of four cows. Some say that's just an example of western decadence, excess and even selfishness but that's 2 cow jealousy for you.

You shouldn't use four-cow transportation. The emissions are very hard on the environment....

Put in old-school porn terms, that's going to be like putting Lexington Steele (new window, very VERY NSFW) down Nikki Charm (new window, sorta NSFW, and yes, she's over 18). It just ain't gonna happen.

The continued Americanization of Britain saddens me.

When we came to the States in the 80s, we thought the yellow school buses looked terribly old, like they'd been bought in the 50s and were still being run with duct tape holding the wheels on because the schools were too poor to get some real, modern buses.

No problem at all. We do it every day.

If you still lived here, you'd be happy to see a school bus.
The school run has gotten ridiculous. Precious snowflakes can't walk 5 blocks when it's raining besides, Pete Paedo must be behind every post box. And the mums are all driving Chelsea tractors (land rovers)

And these are the bendy buses (new window)they run through medevial York.
yech. I'd rather see school buses.

Yeah, if only we could be modern like you Britons, what with your dirt road buses and all.

I quite understand that school buses are useful things. My problem is with the loud, ugly American ones rumbling around in England. They could use decent-looking buses and I'd be fine with it. The American ones would clash with practically everything.

As for the bendy-bus, it looks just fine to me on its own, it just has a similar problem to American buses in England - it clashes with the setting of a medieval town. Driving around a modern city with flashy skyscrapers it'd be fine.

Wow is Blue Bird ever making some fugly buses now... school buses are never the most aesthetically pleasing vehicles on the road, but that's an atrocity.

They use normal buses and coaches, rented from companies to transport children to and from school. They typically make a delivery at certain bus stops that you had to walk too to get on.

I always hated the buggers. I would qualify for half fare bus pass, but it was far easier just to walk or cycle a couple of miles. You would typically beat the bus home that way too and save yourself 20p each way.

But this is going to put the oxen out of work! Where the fark else are castrated bulls supposed to find work in that country? I'd be outraged if I weren't an apathetic American.

Calling "rim shot" right after an ass joke is never gonna summon up any pleasant associations, man.

So the peasants walked before this? I thought Britain was a modern nation. Need we teach you the lines to "the tyres of the bus go round and round"?

They've had school bus service in Scotland forever. When I was a kid they had 4 or 5 double decker bus runs just take kids to the nearest secondary school (Auchinleck Academy) every day. We primary school kids had to walk on our own two feet, sometimes for ten minutes. GOML.

Can't have that here. One of them will get kidnapped/run over/stoned/etc and all hell will break loose. SAFETY FIRST!

Indeed, I could not even begin to imagine why someone would spend more than 5 or 6 days in Britain. What with the stabbing and having to use the toilet on the floor in the hallways and then the nerve of the hotelier kicking me out for trying to adopt their backwards and primitive customs.

Also, the indignation when you call the Union Jack the "Butcher's Apron".

At least now the children will be able ride from their slums to go get coddled at school in relative safety and comfort. Until of course they all defecate and urinate all over the damn things while wildly stabbing each other and acting like primitive savages, squeeling in their incomprehensible accents.

When I was a kid, everyone in the town walked. Those from further afield took rented (motor)coaches which are way plusher than the US schoolbus. We'd take those on school trips as well. The US schoolbus is a step down for the kids.
