He probably hung on until the aerodynamic forces grew too strong and he was blown off (so to speak), which would have been relatively soon after launch, considering how fast that thing accelerates. It's possible he survived, but bloody unlikely.

I've done it a few times with bugs on my windscreen that refuse to get off. Increase the speed gradually to see if they can hang on. Best bug hit 80 mph until I got bored and hit him with the windscreen washer and wiper.
