Hey, I've performed there! Where this fool got caught is right near a beautiful public library where I've performed a few puppet shows. The lone autograph request that I have received and granted in my life came at that library. I did not use a sharpie to sign the boy's program, and my beard was my own.

The bank he robbed was a mile east of the middle school I went to 40 years ago. And the civic center with the police station, it also had the library where I frequently did homework. Back then, "Detroit" seemed so far away.

It's actually a fairly clever idea to do something like draw a marker beard on your face. People will get so focused on the obvious silliness of it that the rest of your looks won't get focused on, making it harder to describe the person. On the other hand, making a wrong turn into a cop station kinda removes any points for cleverness you might have obtained.
