Good. They should have pulled out and ran over his annoying ass again, except someone else might have gotten the parking space.

*sounds of crickets*

2009-03-03 07:04:08 PM
While I find the act of standing like an idiot to reserve a space deplorable and darwin-baiting, I myself am guilty of having done this.

/hangs head in shame

FTA: Victim Jose Santiago, 57, said he was at the Murphy USA gas station on Lee Boulevard, standing in a spot in the gas line to reserve a spot for his wife.

Something is missing from TFA. Where was the wife? On her way? How long was the line that he had to hold a spot for her? The guy sounds like an asshat but that still does not give the driver the right to hit him...twice

2009-03-03 07:17:14 PM
That "parking spot" JUST HAPPENS TO BE MY WIFE!

- Okay, I'll stop. It's just how I cleanse my palate.

This.

Studies have shown (no, I'm not going to find the link) that you'd save, on average, 60 seconds if you took the first space you found, instead of looking for a better one.

Me? I check the very best spaces first (hey, ya never know), and then head for the boondocks... no point circling for hours.

There is no debate. You can't hit someone with your car for saving a place in line, for saving a parking space or standing there spreading the gospel of Jebus.

/You can want to, and I would want to, but you can't do it.

Victimless crime

cksewell: Something is missing from TFA. Where was the wife?

Making a 37 point U-turn because she forgot which side the gas tank was on....again.

Are you farking serious? The driver hit a pedestrian with his car. Twice.

2009-03-03 09:00:17 PM
Good.

2009-03-03 09:29:52 PM
The 'victim' is an idiot. Not excusing the jerk that ran into him but, trying to save a space in line to buy that shiatty Murphy gas is just retarded.

2009-03-03 09:51:03 PM
Guy was obstructing traffic. Needed to be run over. Reversing over him again would have been excessive, but only marginally.

/not a parking spot, dumbitter - a gas line. RTFA.

2009-03-03 10:08:43 PM
You cannot save a spot in a gas line without a car. The victim should have been run over, not bumped.

That's no joke. I just always park in the back and walk the extra 20-40 yards to the entrance of wherever I'm going. 99% of the time the "empty" part of the lot is this far away and most people will still circle the lot searching for a space 3 slots closer. I just find it interesting that things like this can be on the forefront of people's thoughts.

Because running people over and being violent is always the right way to go. Glad to see you're such a charming part of the human race.

/you should not be allowed to drive a car.

Yeah, and they should have raped his wife too, right?

Er...apparently you can.

Both guys involved disagree...

2009-03-03 10:44:01 PM
Subby has it wrong. A 2009 debate needs to involve weed, speeding, religion, and police stupidity. Now if only we had a tag for all of that. I'm sure we have one around here somewhere...

2009-03-03 10:44:17 PM
Both were idiots, the violence with running the guy over made the driver the bigger idiot of the two.

2009-03-03 10:45:20 PM
i would have just laid down on the horn until he moved. standing right in front of the car the horn gets old real fast.

What the Fark? Two in a row?????? The Florida tag on strike or something??????

Oh, I dunno...

"The victim stated that he held up his hands for the suspect to stop

It's a tough call.

You have to know all the facts. Normally I'd say run him over, but what if he was so fat that it would total your car?

2009-03-03 10:46:29 PM
Oh jeez, I thought his wife ran him over.

That would be a whole 'nother debate. And it just isn't true!

Actually, it's called Rats-On-A-Sinking-Ship-Syndrome, & it has to do with the carrying capacity of Earth. Read a little about other crowded populations. As the world gets smaller, you're chances of being confronted with violence on a daily bases goes up...
/Only the strongest/sneakiest/scariest survive. Think Thunderdome...In this case, it's the quickest.

He probably shouldn't have done that. So subby thinks this the part that will be debated?

Man was a Douche-bag! At the same time, is it worth vehicular
manslaughter to serve him his comeuppance?

/hard decision
//obviously, I would never willfully run someone over
/obviously

What, exactly, is intended by greatest debate? There's nothing in the story about religion, immigration, Obama, Bush, or the latest popular-but-cool-to-hate band/meme.

It's going to be a stretch just to get female drivers involved.

2009-03-03 10:47:31 PM
if you took the perp out back and shot him in the head, this wouldn't raise a blip on any radar, ever.

2009-03-03 10:47:56 PM

The guy saving the spot should have been run over, then in his attempt to get away the suspect doing the mowing down would have drove into a pump, causing an explosion and killing both idiots.

I had a friend write a letter of complaint to Carl Jr's because they would not serve him food at the drive thru window, even though he walked up to it for service.

2009-03-03 10:49:19 PM
I bet both these guys have trouble making friends.

I'm glad you made your comment "big", because it was a lot more important than the other comments. You douchebag.

he didn't run him over, he nudged him with his car.

2009-03-03 10:53:23 PM

2009-03-03 10:53:39 PM
What is there to debate? You should NEVER be an asshole who stands in front of a spot. Ever. Next story.

2009-03-03 10:53:50 PM
I have to admit running over someone like that has been a fantasy of mine.

/probably wouldn't really do it tho
//probably would just slowly move the car into the spot giving the idiot time to back out.

2009-03-03 10:53:51 PM
it is a clean shot if your get them on the rise. he should have moved faster.
