See, here in America we do it the way you're thinking. You know, so someone is still basically paying attention to where the fark we're going. The rest of the world, not so much. Might have something to do with why we're constantly bailing people out of world wars.

I was going to call "fake" but, the off screen laugh when the troops acknowledge the kid seems genuine.

Also... couldn't they have made that clip about half as long, and done without (or turned down) the damn music. All that waiting sucked, especially since we knew that the payoff was going to be. Furthermore, I know it's the Canadian National Anthem, but as Canadians, we're only supposed to have to listen to it at the beginning of hockey games, on Remembrance Day and when the CBC ends it's programming day.

The Canadians played a large part on D-Day, played a large role in liberating Paris, helped push the British over the top in liberating Antwerp Belgium, and liberated most of the Netherlands during WWII, so yeah, they have a reason.
