Maybe they're from an unknown region of the slum which is actually called heroes welcome?

Or maybe subby needs to be beaten over the head with BTAF.

Thanks for the Oscar, kid. Now get back on the garbage heap and hunt up enough recyclable plastic to buy your Mom some rice.

No--actually, they were greeted at the airport by Masi Oka and Ali Larter.

God, that movie sucked. If it were filmed in America, with appropriate American modifications, it would have been a Lifetime movie at best.

i see Mugato knows nothing of cinematography, directing, editing or scoring a movie...

or if he does,
he does not care to show us his knowledge and insight
at this time.

I thought it was a lame version of "City of God" set in a different slum. Instead of showing a realistic portrayal of a criminal, it showed a realistic portrayal of a normal citizen. Instead of using guile and cunning to work his way up, the main character worked his way sideways until he got a chance on the TV show. Also, a musical number AT ANY POINT in a drama reduces the impact. Even in the credits.

Slumdog Milionaire was a good movie, but it wasn't Good. It will not rank among the greatest films of all time, nor is it ageless like Casablanca or Metropolis. It was just a technically superior movie with an acceptable story.
Even the best technical skills cannot make a "Jesus Christ Vampire Slayer: The Musical" a great film.

+1 for the headline.

Film was OK, not great. And the kids have actually been given apartments near the slums for their families. Near the slums because they didn't want to move away from their friends or lose the opportunity to fall into a cess-pit.
