Regardless of the race stuff, I do have to say North Carolina barbecue is hands down the best barbecue have ever graced my digestive tract. I used to hate all kinds of barbecue (I'm originally from Massachusetts and moved to north Florida 9 or 10 years ago) until my ex brought me some after visiting family up there...now even Sonny's is a regular restaurant for me.

The best BBQ shacks I've been to were in the ghettos of Jacksonville and Gainesville and the sticks of N Florida.

I get where subby was going with the joke, but it failed because he said "relatives" instead of "ancestors."

Also, we're a few generations away from it not having the "hiding" meaning most of us saw in it.
