"Placing 12 of the "arms" star-fish-style around a central shaft, the inventors stimulate them simultaneously and they all bend in the same ..."

This sounds like porno science to me.

Is there any way Fark can limit the allowable width of posts?

It reminds me of the Lorax: Everyone Needs a Thneed.

For those of you who have asked for a flying car:

I have been watching this thing for a year now. Still can't figure out if it's real or a scam.

As I was one of the original designers for this "smart motor" in the late 60's, I find the fact that I received no credit for it disturbing.

Engineers at Penn State's Centre for Acoustics and Vibration

And you think these people are just now coming up with sex toys? I bet that department has the most female satisfaction of any other department on campus.

The skycar's been in the works for a group of years, it was featured on the old discovery tv show.

Saw a link for a japanese one man flying helicopter the other day that might be more interesting.

gis for new info gets this:

It will be classified ultralight

These new motors look more useful for self-powered floppy disks than anything else.

I think the key phrase in the article is "shape shifting", not "shape changing". This technology would allow things like airplane wings to shift their shape into a different airfoil, but not change their shape into, say, a robot.

I'm "sorry" but all the "stupid" "quotes" in this "retarded" article almost gave me a "migrane"

Stop humping the "laser"

Boring. Call me when they can make a recreation of Ghastly's Rape Rape Revolution machine. NSFW if you don't know what I'm talking about.

This is one of those inventions just waiting for a genius to come along a use it in a radical new way nobody had every thought of before.
