Wait, you can get fined for driving legally under the limit? Then why not set the limit to 0?

Too old? I thought that attitude would changes once you started imagining her Hannah Montana tshirt (the one with the sparkles) on your bedroom floor.

Becuase the legal limit is the auto-DUI level, but if you are both a) intoxicated and b) cannot drive, you are still DUI.

/Due to license restrictions my "legal limit" is 0 BAC.

Sen-Sgt Lyndon said it was "absolutely unbelievable" that a 13-year-old girl would be caught drink-driving.

Agreed. When I was 13, I never got caught when I was drunk driving.

Stupid kid. I woulda thrown the keys to the 10 year old. Isn't that what a wingman is for?

Frick, would have helped to know that. Much less stupid now.

Karma Chameleon: So no mouthwash before a night out then.

Seriously, with a level that low, I think you should require blood tests on convictions of .05.

0.05, what is that, like a half a glass of wine? Not even real wine but that Arbor Mist crap that's like 4% abv. What if I gotta cold, and took some Nyquil? Is my ass going to jail for that?

Doesn't say she did. Could have gotten wasted at home before picking up her aunt from the nightclub.

Threadjack

Does anyone remember North by Northwest?
Remember the scene where Cary Grant is forced to drink a bottle of whiskey and then the bad guys put in a car and tried to push it off the mountain road?

And he wakes up and drives all hazy, crazy, down, nearly going off the cliff at every hairpin turn, while being chased by the badguys?

Remember, he ended up at the bottom of the mountain and crashed into the back of a prowl car?

Remember?

And, he went to court the next day and put up his argument that he was forced to drink and drive, and no-one believed him.

And finally his mother advised him to just pay the $2.50?...

Yeah, them were the days.

Remember?

That was awesome!

That's what I thought. It could happen, I think.

I mean, I've been an uncle since I was seven, so if my older brother had gotten started with the babies...ten years earlier, when he was twenty, I'd have a nephew three years older than me. And he could have picked me up from somewhere when I was 13 and he was 16. I can't explain the nightclub, but maybe just a more extreme case?

2009-02-23 02:16:52 AM
The 13 year old was the niece. She had her 10 year old cousin in the car. The 13 year old driver blew a 0.115.

Are you calling Australian folks fat or heavy? Because the BAC has nothing to do with alcohol tolerance.

I have to say the term "Drink Driving " just drives me crazy. It doesn't seem like good English.
What makes more sense is DWI "Driving While Intoxicated" or DUI "Driving under the Influence".

To me this is drink driving!

It is improper English. It's a verb and a verb.

What makes more sense is DWI "Driving While Intoxicated" or DUI "Driving under the Influence".

I don't like DWI. There's another acronym for that - Driving While Indian. ;-) DUI Is far better.

No, that would be drink being driven.

Now if someone can photoshop a beer bottle with arms driving a car, then that would be drink driving.

The fact this occurred in a town called "Darwin" makes me think the irony tag just imploded.

It's quite clear that the stupid are going to out-fark the smart and we'll be left with stuff like this being the norm.
