it's cute that Gary thinks he's moving ever closer to getting Ron Paul when his best efforts every single day will give him Sarah Palin instead.

But that's all the fault of the libs, of course.

If so, then they'll find another one just like her (she's just a new version of Bush anyway). Do you honestly believe that the GOP will try their best to put a real conservative in office if they can go the easy route instead and keep the neocons happy ?

Pray for failure in the next 4 years, Help destroy teh Libs and don't focus on anything else. You're playing right into their hands and they'll laugh at you after they get done screwing you.

You underestimate the war on education in this country. There are more than enough people that LOVE her. she will be a player for sure.

All of the classic Fark Independents have stated that they can't wait for the "libs" to learn the awful truth about Obama. That'll teach them for daring to question the street savvy conservatives who know better than to believe in hope or change.

As soon as their precious gloating dies down the Republicans will step in with their next fundie nutjob because all they have to do is finish beating the Dems.

Is it worth it to win a little battle of being right on a forum somewhere if you've just f*cked your own future straight up the ass ? Ask Gary in 2013.

She's been a caricature since Charlie Gibson totally blindsided her with questions about politics (that sneaky "gotcha" journalist...asking a politician about politics!!).

But some people like caricatures.

FTFA: Their proposals will not stimulate economic growth or create jobs

Okay, now I've been hearing this from every republican senator during these debates. They list all of the money that's going to various projects, like removing dams and updating government computer systems. Then they all say that these projects won't create jobs and I'm confused by that.

If the government puts out $50 million to update the FAA's computer systems (a number which I'm completely pulling out of my ass, but go with it for the sake of the argument) won't that money go to pay the people that get hired in order to do the work? To pay for the computers for the upgrade? Won't that, in turn, require that people work at the computer manufacturer?

Same with dam removal, refurbishing the government buildings and any of the other projects. People will get hired to do that work, those people will then have money that they don't have now and they will spend that money on goods. Equipment and materials will be required to do the work which someone has to make and sell.

Giving tax breaks is all well and good, but that only helps those that are paying taxes, the people that are working already.

/just for clarification, I'm currently employed

Republicans are just worried that it would all be wasteful. I mean, the current FAA computer systems, the ones that thousands of people rely on everyday to be safe in the air, was built in the 1970s. And there really hasn't been many changes in computer technology since then, right?

John "I don't know much about the economy, but I've got Greenspan's book and know Jack Kemp" McCain? Wouldn't the economic crisis be a reason for him to run for the hills and let someone competent take over?

I'm of the opinion that Obama gave McCain a very nice "thank you for sucking so bad" gift by pulling Napolitano up to the cabinet and removing the person likely to beat McCain.

From the comments: FTA

"John McCain revealed two parts of his character during the campaign for president that undermine his credibility on all matters, but most especially economic matters. First, he revealed that he really has no honor or honesty when it comes to politics. This was revealed in his cynical choice of a running mate who was totally unprepared to be a heart-beat away from the presidency. It was also revealed by his embrace of lies that promoted his candidacy and his embrace of fear-mongering and out and out hate-mongering. The second revelation was that he has no clue when it comes to economic matters and that his entire approach to the economy has to do with a self-promoting kind of expediency that does not put country first but puts John McCain and his own aggrandizement first. Fundamentally, John McCain has shown that he is part of the problem not part of any solution."

This pretty much sums it up.

Close..they were buying everything and people were stuffing credit bandits into stupid terms. And the flippers poured gasoline on the situation. Then the mortgage brokers/banks sold the paper to Fannie/Freddie and/or got leveraged on down forty times over. Not sure brown people had much to do with it..but credit flakes overall sure did.

Go down to a local high school and pass out free credit cards an you'll get the same result monetarily.

Time are changing. Did you know that in less than a decade 'white people' will be in the minority? Sherrif Joe's head will explode if he's still in office. This state is more moderate.

But you watch. The legislature and governor's office are both Republican held (thanks Napolitano for bailing on us). They want to slash and burn everything. We've already had protests on things like education cuts and so forth. If they continue, then McCain could very well be in some hot water. At least I hope so.
