To me, the most interesting thing in that article was that Tiger may come back at the Accenture Match play championship.

I don't give a rat's ass about his kids. I just want to watch him play again.

With a middle name like Axel, we can be sure he's not going to fall for a banana in a tail pipe.

Rolling eyes...

I heard this weekend that Tiger did not tip at restaurants and was an otherwise douche.
So, when reading the headline, could only wonder if Charlie will be a no tipper.

Not to change gears, but-

Heard Barkley was a good tipper.
Oscar De La Hoya a bad one.

The best handle from the bellhops at the 4 Seasons BevHills: Scotty "No Tippin'" Pippin.

I like Charlie. I think it is a very cool retro name

2029 seems rather pessimistic for those of you out there who would have gladly taken the job of satisfying Woods out of his wife's hands, and rather optimistic for the rest of us who don't give a damn...and for those folks who've heard of regression to the mean.

Golf isn't a sport and Woods just isn't important.

That's all I came in here to say so FLAME OFF.

Ummmm... I think you might want to turn off teh Fark for a bit, there bud. But, like, Congrats and stuff.

Celebrities can't do anything right, huh? If he'd have named the boy something like Ridgeline Motorboat, you would laugh. He names him Charlie, probably already has plans to buy him a chocolate factory, and still you snark.

/Named my son Bobo, Jr.

I wonder if Tiger be keeping Phil Mickelson away so Charlie won't accidentally try to latch on to the wrong boobs?

Dear Tiger,
Thank you for giving your kid a semi-normal name, especially in this day and age of celebrities trying to out-retard each other in naming their children.
Congratulations,
Your Fans

/yeah, I have you in mind Pete Wentz, you effing wentz.

Make sure he stays the hell away from baseball. Bad career move.

So, how often do superstars actually have kids that live up to the name? Most of the good Juniors were from guys who were awesome enough to be pros, but weren't as good as their sons.

Ken Griffey Jr was way better than Ken Griffey
Cal Ripken Jr was way better than Cal Ripken

on the other side,

Kellen Winslow was way better than Kellen Winslow Jr
Phil Simms was way better than Chris Simms

Hmm...maybe it's a sport thing.

He might be good, but he's not going to come anywhere near his dad's accomplishments, if history is any guide.

/and the fact that his dad's accomplishments are ridiculous

Peter Stastny looks every bit as talented as his dad.
Ron Hextall was better than Dennis Hextall
Nick Foligno is just as good as Mike was.
People will argue forever about Brett/Bobby Hull
Mark Howe, although at a different position than Gordie had a pretty distinguished career. Hard to live up the old man on any level though.

Ryan Sittler was a total scrub, though.

Bobo_Spiewack: Ron Hextall was better than Dennis Hextall

Well, he was also Ron's uncle, not his dad.

Looks doesn't count. They have to match up for a career. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is good, but he's not near what his dad was, too. I guess the Unsers and the other racing families have some cases...but the children of superstars aren't really all that much more likely to be superstars themselves in a sport than kids of some random dude.

From teh Wikitruthiness:

On April 15, 2008, he underwent his third left knee arthroscopic surgery in Park City, Utah, and missed two months on the PGA Tour.

Does math... February minus nine months, carry the one....

DAY-YAM!

Talk about rehab!

But will he send a terminator back in time in order to make sure he gets born, that he might win said tourney?
