If only there were a vehicle made by Nissan, that could describe the kind of path-finding individual that could help steer them out of these troubling times.

You know that basically all Japanese car companies have unions, right?

THIS is why japan does it right-the directors take a 10% pay cut as they reduce the workforce by 10%. The people below them also take a 5% pay cut. Personal responsibility.

Now in America the director takes a huge bonus for "saving the company".......

Something people don't recognize about Japan is that the government is almost entirely corrupt. It's similar to the "Boss Tweed/Tammany Hall" days in the US.

Nissan sucks. They are less reliable than a GM. It's really annoying when people act smug because they drive a Japanese car but it's especially annoying when they drive a Nissan. It's still a piece of crap. It's Japaneseness doesn't make it any less crappy. Honda and Toyota make good cars. Nissan should never be mentioned along with those two. Nissan is the Chrysler of Japan and the only company crappier than that is Chrysler of America. That's why they like to work together. They're like two crap covered peas in a pod......end rant....need less coffee

Subby, the headline made me groan.

As for Nissans sucking, my dad had a pickup made by those wankers back in the early 90's. What a steaming pile of macaque crap. It was constantly in the shop getting something done to it. Moreover, it couldn't carry anything heavier than a reclining chair in the back (we tried to help a neigbour move once).

All around disappointing vehicle, and dad tells me their customer service was complete shiat.

Good riddence to the company.

Get one of the Toyota pickups they make for third world shiatholes.

Top Gear did TWO episodes where they tried everything possible to kill the damn thing. It was tossed around in the tide and buried in sand. It had multiple collisions. It had a camper dropped on it. They parked it on top of a 20 storey apartment complex that they then blew up.

It still drove.

Asian culture, by default, is corrupt. They have always placed family/pride over right and wrong. Now, I'm not saying Asians are bad people, so don't start throwing out the racist kid. But if you deal with an Asian government or large company, let the buyer beware.

The Hilux. Not available in the US, but the Tacoma is very similar.

oh noes! But but but it was all the AMERICAN companies that were mismanging everything..... they should all DIAF!!

oh wait, toyota and nissan are having problems.... must just be the economy then.

//wonders how many times toyota re-arranged the deck chairs on their ship before showing their first loss in like 50 years... imagine the shame for their ceo... but im sure they are upfront about their accounting and everything is rosy over there...

The Tacoma is actually very different according to Dr Wik I. Pedia, esq.

It might costs a bit of money to get it imported, but the farkers have a life expectancy in the range of half a million miles driven, spare parts are dirt cheap, and they're designed to be serviced with the minimum of tools and specialized equipment.

Union basing is quite popular. I just imagine if they never were, how much worst it would have been for most of us. Unless you are pretty wealthy, bashing unions is a bit like cutting off your own nose in spite of your own face. You eyes are being taken off the real problems here maybe. Maybe unions are useless now and have overdone it, but we need something to counter the corporate greed and irresponsibility. We've been suckered enough IMO.

I don't really get Japan. Almost everything in my house was from there. They still actually make things.

Every goverment ever has been corrupt. The only variable is how aware the public is of that fact.
