"But According to Ain't It Cool News"

This is when the story immediately loses any credibility.

So I'm wondering why the actual AICN article went red, but the MSNBC article on the AICN article goes green...

Such are the mysteries of Fark.

Given that Bale sucks at showing emotion and is a horrible actor, I'm sure he was pretty pissed that someone made him look even worse. We can only hope skynet wins this battle. Die John Connor, Die.

I know I'm always forgiven for the cursing, helmet-throwing rants I practice at my work because of the intensity of the environment, so I guess I'm every bit as special as entertainers and athletes!

The world is a strange, forgiving place.

I'm still betting Bale missed his mark and Shane was trying to see if he was still standing in anything resembling useable light.

Bingo.

Listen, I don't care if the guy accidentally set Bale's hair on fire with a lamp, it was still overboard.

tHere is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that AICN harry Knowles brings to the table that you and I can conclude from just listening to the audio. he wasn't there, and everything is just speculation from his part

I see though, that he still writes endless blather, like his movie reviews where he goes on and on and on about personal crap before actually reviewing the damned movie. Stopped reading him years ago

2009-02-04 10:32:48 PM
I don't really care. Can we let this story drop already?

2009-02-04 10:33:48 PM
He's no Buddy Rich. Only 3 and a half minutes? Maybe he slipped into Bateman for a bit, but still, being genuinely pissed off at somebody in the course of a workday can happen.

Don't hate the player.

How Knowles's unsourced ball-sucking constitutes actual news is a mystery to me.

It went green. I found it but a mere few days ago.

And we all biatched how the format of the website sucks and so forth.

/Go find it. I'm not.

Are you blind? Christian Bale is "tone deaf" towards emotions: he completely fails to understand and interpret humanity. But that makes him great for playing psychopaths and bland action characters.

My nephew's high school play has better bit part acting than anything that man can imagine, let alone actually portray on screen.

The weird thing is this happens all the time on sets (usually the director though). I've heard horror stories about James Cameron and even Spielberg.

That could have been so much better if whoever put it together took a little time and care with the audio. In comparison to Bale, O'Reilly sounds like he's whispering.

2009-02-04 11:21:33 PM
He was great in American Psycho.

2009-02-04 11:25:20 PM
I kind of agree with Michael Bay. Depending on the scene obviously, an actor might be tapping into any range of emotions. So if someone interupts that scene, all those emotions just get derailed into the trainwreck we saw from Christian Bale.

Plus, at the end of the day, he's the goddamn Batman. He can do whatever the fark he wants. That DP is lucky he wasn't punched in the stomach and forced to eat rats.

2009-02-04 11:32:31 PM
You are trashing my scene!

GaryPDX: He was great in American Psycho.

Yes he was. He was still acting like an ass.

Even after reading the article, I'm unclear if the guy is a "light tweaker" or a "lite tweeker".

LOL! Stephen Colbert is doing his best Bale imitation with Steve Martin right now!

whoops meant to add it happens all the time just isn't recorded!

2009-02-04 11:39:57 PM
The one thing that makes me laugh hysterically about this whole ordeal are the folks who claim they're never going to patronize another film of Bale's, because he's "mean." If you sincerely plan on avoiding movies because you thought an actor involved was a dick at one time or another, then you're likely never to visit the cinema or turn on your television again. Hell, by all accounts Alec Guinness was a horrible man who took pleasure in humiliating his family and degrading his fans. It doesn't make me love Star Wars any less.

All signs indicate this was a one-time incident, but even if it isn't, I don't much care. Bale is a damn fine actor and I enjoy his movies.

downtownkid: If Michael Bay says your tantrum went too far you must have REALLY gone over the line.

Michael Bay didn't say he went too far, he just said that Christian was justified in his actions and that the DIRECTOR should have intervened after a minute and put order into the room. There's a reason why he's the freaking boss. But of course, when you're someone named McG you don't have much leverage to play with, lol.

Yeah, i get really upset whenever someone interrupts my pretend-time, too.

Give it a rest, it's not like the guy jostled the scapling arm of a neurosurgeon ...

He pissed off a guy whose job it is to look pretty and tell lies.

I'd go further ... i'd say Alec Guiness was a farking sociopath ... and that's probably what MADE him great.

Ditto Bale. He's probably a farked up, emotionally hideous human being, and he uses that on the screen.

Bully for him that he has such good material to work with.

But he's probably still a bigger douche than falling down Niagara Falls with your toes up and legs spread.

2009-02-05 12:12:28 AM
Nope, not buyin' it, Bale. You still deserve to be slapped repeatedly.

2009-02-05 12:13:12 AM
I think he's a "serious actor" looking at a career full of comic/scifi conventions and "SciFi Original Movies."

Sorry dude, there's only one Shatner.

If only he had done other movies that had nothing to do with comic books or scifi stories...

Dude...MARLON BRANDO acted in a comic book movie.

Bruce Franklin (per IMDB). I'm sure Bruce knows not to bite the hand that feeds him. Which is why no one on that recording told Bale to STFU & GBTW.

rocky_howard: Dude...MARLON BRANDO acted in a comic book movie.

Hey, I love comics, movies and comic book movies, but Brando played Jor-El when he was MARLON BRANDO. Bale is in T4 when he's still mainly Batman. Keaton was so famous for other things that many thought he couldn't pull it off(I was worried but I thought he nailed it.) While I like Bale's Bruce Wayne, I don't care for his Batman, but that's probably not his fault.

Anyhoo, I just thought the guy might be worried about being stuck in a genre and frustrated and angry about it.

Or maybe he's just an asshole.

Which certainly wouldn't make him a bad actor.
