I remember all of those except the Nike commercial.

"When I grow up, I wanna be a yes man."

2003-01-25 01:11:48 PM
Okay, Superbowl means beer and beer means BOOBIES.
Please, someone post some HUGE boobies.
*thankles*

I loved the cat herders commercial, but I had no clue who did the commercial. Why did we never see it again? It makes no sense to me to spend a lot of money makimg something like this and have it disappear.

2003-01-25 01:16:41 PM
I'll take what I can get!
Thanks!

2003-01-25 01:18:24 PM
Allright, bring on the "well, what about THIS one, which was my favorite" comments. I can't wait.

2003-01-25 01:19:33 PM
Download the CAT HERDING commercial (9.7 MB, ZIP).

ARRRRGGGHHH

Bring back Bud Bowl

I mean the first like bud bowls, where the game was played out in the commercials big play by big play.

One of my favorites got pulled because it wasn't politically correct.

Does anyone remember the FedEx Wizard of Oz spoof where the Munchkins needed FedEx to deliver helium balloons so they could finish their song in the right octave. IIRC, the truck landed on the wicked witch.

Yes, one of the early "what about this one...?" posts. Sorry. :)

The Superbowl Dash= PEE only when they move the chains so as not to miss any good commercials, however, you run the risk of missing CHEERLEADER BOOBIES.

We shall prevail!

best. commercial. ever.

2003-01-25 01:41:14 PM
the 1984 one in a small quicktime file. There's a bigger one at, apple history but it's slow as molasses.

2003-01-25 01:43:46 PM
The commercial for The Matrix from four years ago was quite memorable. Did anyone get through to the website (whatisthematrix.com) that Sunday?

2003-01-25 01:45:49 PM
I'm just hoping that Miller Lite will take us to the next logical step of their recently released ads involving two women with enormous breasts (fake or not i do not care) wrestling in fountains and what-not...hopefully the blonde will end up as a boobies link on here...

2003-01-25 01:55:28 PM
I remember the Hopper commercial. I do remember some people whining about it. It never struck me as mocking the mentally ill, not once. Yet another example of a few ignorant loudmouths dictating society's wills for the rest of us intelligent people. Damn, I hate society.

2003-01-25 01:57:45 PM
I've seen the list of commercials, no sequel to the Miller Lite Cat Fight. That is a crime.

2003-01-25 02:00:17 PM
Ridley Scott's "1984" for Apple computers... it is not only the best superbowl ad ever... It is also considered the best ad ever produced.

2003-01-25 02:03:14 PM
wasn't the whassup commercial from the superbowl?

2003-01-25 02:04:26 PM
Highly arguable....everything....except for Joe Green...

2003-01-25 02:04:49 PM
The Ozzy wtih Donny and Marie Pepsi commercial that will debut tomorrow looks to be a good one. Saw a preview on Fox news of all places.

i'm tired of people saying the "1984" commercial is the greatest of all time. big fricking deal, so a big name director makes a artsy commercial. i didn't like it then when i was 14 and i don't like it now that i'm 32. the commercial is overrated and over hyped.

2003-01-25 02:15:24 PM
I can't ever seem to wrap my mind around what's going on in the heads of marketing people...no Miller Lite Catfight sequel for the Super Bowl? Talk about missing out on a good opportunity...that's it, I'm switching back to High Life.

2003-01-25 02:16:55 PM
Iz "the commercial is overrated and over hyped."

I have to agree...just like Apple itself.

Apple zealot reply in 3...2...1...

The Running of the Squirrels one is awesome.

2003-01-25 02:31:04 PM
Anybody remember Reebok and the bungee jump? Two jumpers go over a really high bridge .. they're falling .. and then you see a closeup of the empty Nike's hanging by the rope??? Buy Nike's, and die!

Great stuff.

Missing from this guys list of course, in a nod to PC faggotry.

2003-01-25 02:40:30 PM
I'll still always favor the Energizer Bunny VS Darth Vader commercial.

2003-01-25 02:44:13 PM
That commercial ripping on AOL was great (with the repeated busy signals) --- 1 800 NOT BUSY

Hi-larious.

2003-01-25 02:50:26 PM
I dunno....this year they are banning a commercial that was suppose to be on the Superbowl...it was this chick who was dressed all slutty and horny and she was leaving Las Vegas.. she was kinda flirtin with the limo driver then she puts up the window. Then when the limo driver reaches the destination and opens the door for her she comes out as this geeky business woman.

The message they were trying to convey was....Everything that happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas....

The Superbowl banned it because they seen it as an advertisement for gambling and this was not the case. I heard there may be a lawsuit gonig on about this....

-scratch-

"Ridley Scott's "1984" for Apple computers... it is not only the best superbowl ad ever... It is also considered the best ad ever produced."

i don't get the hype...it sucks. i'm glad to see others feel the same.

2003-01-25 03:04:14 PM
Micah467 exactly. You would think you would of laid out the $2 million for one 30 second spot. I need more boobies dammit.

2003-01-25 03:06:37 PM
And we'll readily agree that it's not even the best Budweiser Super Bowl campaign.

Ok, this writer needs to be dragged out in the street and stomped in the junk a few hundred times.

2003-01-25 03:08:26 PM
How can the 1984 commerical be "overhyped" and suck? Isn't the purpose of an ad to generate hype? Seems to have filled its purpose. I'm sure a few other companies would like to have such an overhyped commerical.

2003-01-25 03:11:46 PM
Er, the Bud Bowl that is.

2003-01-25 03:14:51 PM
Oh, and the "1984" commercial=teh ghey.

Mac's suck, ridley scott is overrated, and the commercial spends far too much time on those bald-headed guys (they all look like spud from "trainspotting), and too little time on the running chicks bouncing boobies.

2003-01-25 03:14:56 PM
The 1984 one is well-deserving classic. Anyone who can't see that is just too busy sucking off Bill Gates.

2003-01-25 03:15:13 PM
Kidd they might like the hype but do they want the results. Basically advertising is overrated anyway. From your smallest company to your biggest word of mouth is the best. That said, I need more miller lite boobies.

2003-01-25 03:18:43 PM
The "Running of the Squirrels" was the same company as the one who did the "Cat Herding" - and they were both produced by a Minneapolis ad company.

2003-01-25 03:19:04 PM
im just glad that stupid dancing YMCA bears thing wasnt there or i would have killed someone.....

2003-01-25 03:51:31 PM
Okay, this is a little off subject, but where can a guy find pictures of Tonya Ballinger. She is the blonde from the Miller Lite Catfight commercial. We have been blessed with many sites dedicated to Kitana Baker and her horrible looking fake boobies. I just googled Miss Ballinger and got next to nothing. HELP!!!!!!

2003-01-25 03:56:31 PM
Newbaca

1.) IBM isn't owned by Bill Gates.

2.) You can love Linux and hate Macs.

3.) Macs suck the goat ass.

2003-01-25 03:56:41 PM
I'm a big PC fan, and even I know that the "1984" ad was the best ever.

It MADE Apple computers. It was doing okay, but that ad (and the hype it generated) made it the "geek darling" it is today.
The ad is STILL talked about today.
The moment it started, you couldn't stop watching because it was SO different than any other commercial.
You remembered the product.
And you have to remember, it only ever ran ONCE. Just that one, single time. Not too many other commercials can claim that much "hype" on a single, solitary viewing.

And anyone that says "It's over hyped" isn't getting the point. That's like saying the "Where's the Beef?" ads, "Bo Knows" ads, "Spuds Mackenzie" ads and "Plop Plop Fizz Fizz" ads were "over hyped". They are remembered, and therefore they worked.

2003-01-25 04:12:08 PM
Ihaveanitch I've seen that commercial before. Sucks they won't show it.

2003-01-25 04:20:53 PM
Actually, people who call the 1984 ad overhyped are ironically giving Apple and Ridley Scott and huge compliment. :)

2003-01-25 05:16:57 PM
So 60 minutes of sport is bloated out to over 3 hours by commercials - but that's OK because they're "really cool commercials".

Sad. Really sad.

2003-01-25 05:30:18 PM
Someone might want to tell the person who wrote this article that Mean Joe Greene threw the kid his *JERSEY*, not his towel.

Jeez, I was 9 when that commercial premiered and I remember that!

Cheers!

GO RAIDERS!!!
