the group has a blog, billed as "free from the scrutiny of feminists,"

...?

that invites women to join "if your monthly Bergdorf's allowance has been halved and bottle service has all but disappeared from your life."

Ah, that explains it. This may be the most effective use of "tag sarcasm" in a long while.

Dawn Spinner Davis, 26, a beauty writer, said the downward-trending graphs began to make sense when the man she married on Nov. 1, a 28-year-old private wealth manager, stopped playing golf, once his passion. "One of his best friends told me that my job is now to keep him calm and keep him from dying at the age of 35," Ms. Davis said. "It's not what I signed up for."

Poor thing. I feel so sorry for her.

I feel so sorry for them. They might actually have to get jobs. Poor things.

2009-01-28 06:28:24 AM
This would make for a nice greenlight.

Boo farking hoo.

Reminds me of an interview I saw on TV with a laid off bankers wife. She says "I'm sorry, but I just cannot bring myself to buy my children's clothes at Walmart".

They were toddlers.

Another, though, seemed chagrined, after her boyfriend told her to "grow up" and stop "complaining about vacations and dinner" since he had to "fire 20 people by the end of the week."

Well at least she has enough sense to be chagrined.

I love these articles. These women complain and think people actually care that they can only eat at Spago 3 times a week instead of 5.

The best part is that when the NYT publishes these articles, they are merely advertising for these whores. Some wealthy guy will see the pictures, and know they want money and aren't happy at home. Pretty awesome.

in sickness and in health,

these women make me sick...

Not one of them took the lessons learned at the "school for gold digging whores" seriously..

2009-01-28 08:28:23 AM
I'm not done yet..

A good gold digger knows you do whatever that man wants and make him feel like a king.. you gotta earn every little piece of gold you dig..

Those women have entitlement issues.. and are lazy..

I was going to go with "not what I signed up for" but I was too slow. So instead I'll take.

"We put two and two together and figured out that it was the economy, not us."

One of my favorite demotivators is captioned "The only consistent feature of all your dissatisfying relationships is you."

2009-01-28 08:49:41 AM
Congratulations, ladies. You've managed to do the impossible and made me actually feel sorry for a bunch or greedy, amoral, douchebag bankers and traders.

2009-01-28 08:50:38 AM
That should be, "...feel sorry for a bunch of greedy..."

2009-01-28 08:52:58 AM
Sweet Jesus, I want to slap anyone quoted in that article. Then I want to cockpunch their boyfriends for putting up with shiat like that.

If you want someone to indiscriminately spend your money while biatching about your personal shortcomings, I could do it for much, much less.

Whores!

"It's not even about a $200 dinner," Ms. Petrus said. "It's that he's an alpha male, he's aggressive, he's a go-getter, he doesn't take no for an answer, he's confident, people whores respect him and that creates the whole mystique of who he is."

Had to fix it. If you're a douchebag, whores respect you. Men think you're an asshole.

On the other hand, they're hot and probably do anal.

Boo Farking Hooo. Their husbands have reaped what they sewed and so are they.

These women should go out and get a job. They are certainly qualified to stand on street corners.

They think they have it bad? Think of the hit their husband's mistresses must be taking.

This sounds so familiar...

The poor men out there who heard "for better or worse so help me God" better get ready for some "I didn't mean that second part".

RubyRed: "I'm sorry, but I just cannot bring myself to buy my children's clothes at Walmart".

Ugh, I hear her. I hate Wal-Mart.

Manta537: The poor men out there who heard "for better or worse so help me God" better get ready for some "I didn't mean that second part".

Possibly, but really, just like with real estate, it's a buyers' market out there for gold digger cooch. Asset prices are falling like rocks, there are fewer customers for the most expensive products, and those that remain are less likely to splurge. Although the guys who are currently renting these girls may not be able to continue the agreed-upon payments, there's probably no alternative out there who is willing to match the initial price, either.

So, as in any business transaction when the terms of the contract have become infeasible, the parties will have to either renegotiate to a more manageable cash flow, or simply walk away. But that would mean these girls would have to actually support themselves, and most of the probably have skills that would be marketable in other industries.

In the whores' defense, their husbands are probably self-absorbed clusters of ass droppings, too. People like this tend to gravitate toward each other. Their like flies on shiat.

Two of those girls, particularly the one in the middle, are total trophy wives.

There is something tempting about the trophy girlfriend and it takes a lot of thinking with the prefrontal portion of your brain to avoid those traps.

Instead, I locked in with a girl who I went to law school with 6 years younger than me. Perhaps I took a pay cut on the looks department and I certainly do not get that ego boost of "knowing it all". But it will work out better in the end when I hit my early 40s and the temptation of young 25 year old women fades.

/It better fade.

FYI, any sensible definition of a golddigger should be limited to women who use marriage to actually move up. The overwhelming majority of NYC banker wives are upper-class girls from CT prep schools and Ivy League colleges. Just like the majority of the Bankers themselves, they were born on top and raised with the expectation of always staying there.

The mistresses, on the other hand, are more likely to be trampy middle-class Long Island girls barely out of high school. Of course, most will only get a few nice dinners, a couple of trinkets from Tiffany's and an STD for their troubles.

The economic crisis came home to 27-year-old Megan Petrus early last year when her boyfriend of eight months, a derivatives trader for a major bank, proved to be more concerned about helping a laid-off colleague than comforting Ms. Petrus after her father had a heartattack.

And by "helping", he meant "drinking and doing blow with at the Hustler Club"

Bros before hos, toots. Best you learned that now.

I've got a good friend who works as a bartender at one of the top gold digger/jersey chaser bars in St. Louis.

He says business is down and it's a riot watching the women get even more desperate. Apparently fewer sugar daddys are coming in, and the ones that do aren't throwing the money around like crazy.

2009-01-28 12:48:12 PM
I wouldn't pay these whores $0.78 on a man's dollar.

Then you fraudulently entered a marriage contract. Hope he takes you for all that you're worth.

The article's a list of reasons for never getting married.

Wow.

As a Manhattanite women (and married to a finance guy who luckily works at a small bank and therefore has job security) these women make me wanna barf. Sometimes, I truly hate the NYTimes.

Nah, marriage is wonderful. These guys were not married, they were symbiotic.

If you have less money to blow on 200 buck meals, try spending time at the zoo or museum with your kids.

Works wonders.
