Because when I want to get advice about a major tool for the global economy, I ask......a musician......

Hopefully the next movement in music will tear down the internet.

Someone missed the rickrolling phenomenon, didn't they?

I would not have been that tactful....: "you talk like a fag and your shiat's all retarded" would have been my response.

Let's get out in the streets and march and protest instead of sitting at home and blogging.

But there's snow outside!

DAME ELTON NEEDS TO GET A GRIP

Sales of Elton's last album The Captain & The Kid were disappointing ? it barely shifted 100,000 copies.

The article is a year and a half old. According to Wikipedia, The Captain & The Kid has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide and received good reviews from numerous publications.

Apparently he's happy with the direction record companies have taken popular music.

Sir Elton, I live in Atlanta. Music should be free. Come on over and play piano at my house. But you'll have to wait your turn. There are plenty of other talented musicians here who didn't become cogs in the industry.

Shouldn't it be the other way around: Sir Elton John wants tubes to clog him?

2009-01-28 10:23:41 AM
Because you can't you know... use this Internet thing to maybe collaborate with musicians who you might never get the chance to meet in real life... that would be a crazy idea!

2009-01-28 10:23:45 AM
Yet he has a whole song dedicated to promoting radio, which is.... free music.

Sir Elton John can bite me.

There is so much weapons grade FAIL in that article that I have to believe that every quote in it is satire. But I know it's not.

The anti-free speech I understand because he's British and doesn't know any better. And the hating on regular people getting their music out I understand because it threatens his old (sore) ass. But "shutting down the Internet"? Yeah, let's call Al Gore and tell him to push the big red cartoon "Shut off the Internet" button. Douchebag.

This. Right. Here.

The internet removes the bullshiat parts of the industry that allows artists to be swindled out of any profits they should see. Apparently Elton doesn't realize that he's one of the very lucky few that has made it and that most of the people who go in don't. To be that delusional is what made the internet popular for distribution in the first place.

Elton, you have some amazing songs in your past, but you really haven't made anything good in over 20 years. Shut the fark up

This guy reminds me of Spike Lee. Every time either of them opens their mouth, shiat comes out.

Ok, but we also ban buttsex for those few years.

Sir Elton is a tiny-brained wiper of other people's bottoms.

He claims it is destroying good music, saying: The internet has stopped people from going out and being with each other, creating stuff.

Maybe if he'd had the Internet when he was young it could have prevented him from catching teh ghey.

Are all British Knights rambling idiots? Shouldn't he be fighting in Iraq right now?

Maybe if John had not become a farking Disney soundtrack machine 20 years back, the younger generations would have respect for his earlier (and good) work.

Elton John is perpetually saying stupid things. A few years back he dissed American Idol as being exclusive. Nevermind there isn't exactly a deluge of straight white male contestants much less winners.

Elton, I think you are one of the best songwriters of the 20th century. Alas, it is now the 21st century and I guess we'll just get off your lawn now.

/Johnny can't you come out to play in your empty garden

SIR Elton since 1976 has also been destroying good music.

Am I the only one who seems to remember this article being greenlit a year and a half ago, when it was still new?
